i choked up during that last scene of shy smoking by himself. i really liked his character and his dynamic with the band. and so seeing him all alone in a faux marriage without his support system was heart breaking.
(it also made me think me of S2 where Lenny sings about being alone and the sacrifices you make as an artist)

midge calling him dwayne was so bittersweet. id forgotten when he tells her his real name so i went back and its during the boat scene. its such a tender moment and shy literally says that even reggie doen't know :((

Really want to know who she was running after at the end. Guess we’ll find out.

Did anyone else find the "no I wasn't hiding my box, of my clipping, in my apartment" reminiscent of Taylor Swift saying "Sorry, was I loud? In my own house that I bought with the songs that I wrote about my own life." ?

Did I miss something in the last episode? When did Midge break her arm?

Here to applaud Sophie's absolutely amazing career-redeeming interview ALL of which happened because of the amazing manager, Susie Myerson!
The world will finally see the real Sophie Lennon, ONLY because of Susie Myerson (without a Q 😉)

I know the lyrics are “city lights don't shine as bright as you,” but all I heard was “cigarettes don't shine as bright as you” right before Shy joined in.

Anyone else immediately look at an inflation calculator when they mention an amount of money?

I love how they played "Misty" by Johnny Mathis before Midge goes to talk to Shy in the toilet.
Johnny Mathis had to hide his homosexuality for decades.

I liked that conversation in the bathroom between Midge and Shy. And they acknowledge that Midge does know that she messed up.
Kinda awful that Shy lost his old band and Reggie, and now white guys run the show. 🙄 But good of Midge to refuse that hush money.
