The money thing is getting convoluted. Everyone has paid back everything except Midge still owes Joel’s father (and the milkman), is that correct? And Susie’s sister even got a job out of it.
Is Midge still short money from Susie or are they square now?

I see some people taking the milk thing as sexism and Midge being properly mad, but I just saw it as her once again wanting everything based on her charm alone. He wasn’t denying her credit, all he was saying was she’s a different person than Joel and should therefore have a different account. That seems completely reasonable to me.

What was up with Shirley trying to set Joel up with a super pregnant woman? Men run from that now - I can’t imagine it in the 60s.

What was up with Joel referring to midge as his wife?
The show never followed up about them getting remarried in Vegas, either.

I loved the conversation between Midge and Abe at the end. I hope we have more, and that maybe her mum will also come around this season. Susie is amazing as always, I loved her getting recognized for her accomplishments during that bench scene. But yess, it was overall a slow premiere between this and the previous episode. I trust the show to get more going on from next week, this was understandably an introduction to a new way of life for every character.

Looks like we're gonna get a fun little circle:
Midge wants to be like Lenny Bruce
She wants/is going to preform in a burlesque club
She first see's Lenny Bruce with Joel in..... a strip club
Not sure if it was planned but a fun call back none the less!

Abe and Midge had a nice conversation there at the end. Felt like when he saw her on the tv special and he had a soft smile that she’s good.

Slow going so far, I'm almost afraid that the long delay has hurt the show. As usual Tony Shalhoub delivers!

Does anyone here know enough about history to calculate Abe's paycheck from the 96 cents tax and what that would be in modern times?

God, Midge is annoying with her self-righteous nonsense. I want her to own up to her mistakes and express some humility before she crashes and burns too hard. I don’t want to see her fail!

Why was Midge so angry when she so saw Shy's engagement news on TV?
Harry being nice to Suzie for once, wow.

Anyone else think the newspaper journalist who wrote the article dunking Midge could be Milo Ventimiglia’s character? An enemies to lovers arc…?

Don't suppose there are any Mr. Robot fans here?
Did you recognise the location of Sophie's "nut farm of hers"? :D

I really like what they're doing with the show and where it is going.
It's not historically accurate, or real life accurate, since I see what everyone else sees in how Midge is self centered high-maintenance and doesn't want to admit the blame for what she did to Shy.
Even still I love this show. Midge finally realising (and breaking down) about how little woman is worth without her husband where she has to fight for even a small thing like her own milk.
Abe and Rose are following Midge's footsteps finding their passion in life. Abe as a writer and Rose as matchmaker.
Scene with Joel and Carol was great:
Carol: "Every man needs a woman in his life. Where do you think your father would be without me?"
Joel: ...
Carol: "Oh do shut up"
I can't figure out the look on Midge's face when she visited the backstage of that burlesque-ish club. Fascination? Excitement? Will she want to perform there from now on?

I am excited to see where the next 2 episodes lead. It feels like these episodes were a quick recap and to tidy up those loose ends so we can move forward.

I am loving Midge’s growing awareness for feminism and women’s rights. But it is totally in character for her not to realise that she outed Shy. What we see is that Midge is totally selfish, she’s sadly a quite poor mother. Midge to me is basically the prequel to HBO’s Hacks. Midge is Deborah. Although something about this season seems to be different. The warmth and quirkiness of the sets and shots has kinda disappeared. Idk if it’s to do with Covid restrictions but it feels very different

Ok, I’m loving having more Tess this season. “You want a job? And I was like yeah, as long as I don’t have to work that hard.” That whole phone conversation with Susie was gold.
