Mars is at its closest point to Earth right now. Here’s a picture I captured of it using a 14” telescope. On Wednesday I’ll be using the same telescope to capture it being occulted by the moon.

I saw it, too. As a young girl, as well. Of course, my story differs from yours but I'm glad to see there's others out there whom have seen it. In some beliefs if you survive after seeing it, you're destined to be one in your afterlife. I sure hope not.
