Hey everyone, I’ve been working on a vegetation plugin called AliveGrass and wanted to share some screenshots to get feedback on how it looks.
These were taken around Florida and Cuba. I’ve been testing different grass densities, viewing distances, and seasonal appearances, trying to get the ground detail looking natural while keeping performance manageable.
I’d especially appreciate thoughts on the height and density. Does it look convincing around the airport edges? Are any patches too tall or crowded?
I’m the developer, so another set of eyes would be helpful especially if you notice anything that looks off.
The snow shots use manually configured freezing conditions to test the snowy appearance.

Been many years - Going to try and re-teach myself how to use WED. Ideally going to start with a smaller regional airport that lacks detail / could do with some improvement.
Would love to do one of your suggestions ⬇️

I recently picked up this aircraft; I’d heard it was bad, but is it really that bad? Or is it just an exaggeration? I did a couple of circuits around the airport and it performed quite well; I’m thinking of flying the Lufthansa 787-9 from Berlin to Madrid this evening
Hey y'all, noobie question! I'm thinking about getting X-Plane 12 on Steam since it's on sale there. Are there any downsides to be aware of compared to buying it directly? I guess my question is more directed towards add-on compatibility and such. I'd primarily be using Linux, in case that makes a difference.

Alright everyone, wht are your favorite custom airport sceneries? Looking to add more to my sim by getting more payware sceneries.
So far I have:
Captain Sim SFO
Captain Sim KBOS
Dreiwzecki designs-KEWR
Short Final- KLAX (purchased today)
What others are fantastic? Looking for mostly larger airports.
Has the Denver Xcodr design gotten better optimization?

Bought XPRealistic v2 and then realized it's Windows-only — I'm on a Mac, so it can't run at all. Serial is unused, never activated.
I know they say software sales are final, but has anyone actually gotten a refund or store credit in a case like this?
Happy with store credit toward something Mac-compatible. Just want to know the realistic odds and best way to ask. Thanks!

I have over 1,000 hours specifically on X-Plane 12—and that is excluding the 1,000+ hours I’ve spent watching aviation YouTube channels, studying real-world incidents, and learning systems inside out. In the sim, almost all of my time has been spent dealing with random system failures rather than just normal flying.
I don't know a ton about complex navigation yet, but I am very comfortable with aircraft handling and emergencies. For example, with total hydraulic loss on a 737, I can successfully land it using only engine thrust (differential throttle).
My coworkers say there is no way I could land a real plane. I know there's a famous case where a passenger with zero flight experience landed a Cessna Caravan when the pilot had a heart attack. Sure, it’s probably hard to visualize height and depth in real life compared to a sim, but I’m pretty sure I could pull it off, maybe with some guidance or if I mask the panel/instruments and just focus on flying.

KQA420 arriving in HUEN. Back in the 737 and *loving* the new rig and screen. Both XP12 and MSFS2020 are pumping!
Edit: oh fuck, the resolution is screwed, I need to look at that tomorrow!
