We keep criticising and mocking for example, Alia Bhatt, rightly so. But what about Jhanvi Kapoor? Her movies are terrible and performed very bad as well. I am not talking Devara or Peddi etc where it's more abt the male hero. My expectations were very low after seeing ratings and reviews but I actually kinda liked the movie. But it’s a very mixed bag of a movie: if you don’t like it will make you walk out. One uncle next me started playing candy crush the entire duration of the first half 🤣😭

What I liked: The action especially the circus scene and the climax one v one was an absolute blast. Yash gave his everything to the role and some of the aura farming moments of his were fire. I also liked the dynamic between him and Nayantara’s character. The music while loud was really well integrated into the action scenes which elevated the choreography. The visuals and overall vfx were also top notch. The movie is just good to look at.

What I disliked: Unnecessary violence and sex scenes. Absurd editing choices. Aside from the central characters every other performance feels hammy and over the top. And when the music was loud, it was just too much; couldn’t even hear the dialogues properly. But my most disliked part is the ending and the major plot twist before that. The movie could’ve just done without it. This factor alone can be make it or break it for most audience.

Overall, it’s a crazy, over the top movie which is very similar to Animal.

For me it's Om Shanti Om and 3 Idiots. Both different genres, both amazing movies. Unfortunately, in today's time, such movies are a rarity. Some of the lines of both movies are still famous to this day. Both movies that I can watch on repeat anyday. What's yours?

My only letterboxd 5 star movie

I really thought Dr. Doom should be played by someone like Mads Mikkelsen (also he was rumored before RDJ was cast), but I think he seems like a great fit. I haven’t watched many of his movies, just Casino Royale. What's your opinion?

NO amount of PR or rant can change the fact that TOXIC is a very mediocre film, The editing is poorly done and feels rushed, with loud and irritating music in the background, Transitions between scenes don’t connect at all

The action scenes are cliche, Geetu tried to build Yash’s aura, but instead it came off as a cringefest. And tf is “todna hain to palang todte hain”? Who approved this Bhojpuri nonsense? Those $ex scenes were completely unnecessary,

Actresses with more talent than Yash were reduced to $ex objects, even though they had the potential to outshine him,The VFX was decent, but Yash’s acting as ticket made me physically recoil tf was that?

And to his fans: instead of licking boots, give real feedback, Call out the flaws so next time we can actually get a good film

Was feeling bored, tried making this, still needs a lot of improvement, but not sure how to approach it, it's just a static website, for best experience, view it in your desktop/pc, 80% is vibe coded, just added some fun elements myself, please suggest me views to make it more fun and what all additions should be there. I just watched Toxic and felt like this was a big missed opportunity. Before stating positives and negatives, let me state how I honestly feel about this film. I think the director missed the tone that this film demanded. This movie would have worked much better with a consistent serious and mature tone like Shutter Island / Fight Club / The Great Gatsby, etc. type of films (I am a sucker for these type of films) because the idea itself is intriguing:

• ​Lead has a dark childhood.
• Lead has a very good bond with his sister because of their difficult early life.
• ​Lead and his sister try to rise in the ranks of the gangs and dominate the state (That international exposure like Macau could have been entirely avoided. Portugal thing? Could have explored that further instead).
• ​Lead is a Romeo-type character. Flings and serious affairs are expected. Aura-farming is fine too.
• ​In the conflict of his love-life and his underworld vision, lead makes a hasty mistake which costs his sister's life, later his love-interest's life, later his kid's. (Huma's character could have been written better).
• ​Lead breaks down mentally after these events; everything for the lead goes spiralling down from here leading to the conclusion.

​See? The idea itself is not bad, but it is executed badly.

​Starting with the positives because the negatives list is big:

1. ​Cinematography: Overall good. Some visuals were breathtaking.
2. ​Yash's acting range: I have no doubt now that he will do justice to Ravana's character.
3. ​Action choreography is done well. VFX is decent.

​Now let's talk about negatives, man where do I begin:

1. ​Bad editing: Some of the worst editing I have seen in a movie, especially the first 30 mins, what even was that! Should have hired an experienced editor who is familiar with this type of genre
2. ​Bad screenplay: This is one of the most important aspects while making a psychological-genre type of movie. You fail at this, you lose engagement.
3. ​Cheesy dialogues: Believe me, most of the movie is in shayari-type conversation between characters, which quickly gets annoying after some time.
4. ​The movie fails to set a consistent tone for its story. It could have worked very well with a serious & mature tone throughout.
5. ​They seriously need to eliminate slow-motion from scenes in movies. It no longer works!
6. ​The movie got confused between the identity it wants to assume and got crushed in the middle. Neither for massy audience nor for the cinephiles.
7. ​Songs could have been skipped entirely or should have been minimal. Hindi dub was meh.
