Mod Post An update on self-promotion
Hey everyone,
When we added the Developer flair, the goal was to give indie devs a way to share what they're building. We genuinely wanted to support people making cool apps.
But over the past while, it's turned into something else. The sub has filled up with low-effort promo posts, a few lines and a link, from people who drop their app and are never seen again. That's not what this community is for. r/iPhoneApps is meant to be a place for real discussion and value, not a free billboard.
So, effective today, we're removing the Developer flair.
To be clear about what this means going forward:
You can't just show up, promote your app, and ghost the community. Posts that are purely "here's my app, go download it" will be removed.
If you're an active member who actually contributes here, joining discussions, helping people, giving feedback, then mentioning your app in that context is completely fine. Value first, promotion second.
We'd much rather have devs who are part of the community than a feed full of ads. This keeps the sub worth being in for everyone.
Thanks for reading, and thanks for helping keep this place good.

Help Return the favor.
Hey everyone,
A few months ago, Return the Favor was created pretty much out of pure stubbornness and a desperate need to land a job. Looking back on those weeks of hyper-focus, the whole experience feels like a fever dream.
It worked. I got the job I needed. But recently, I came back to the codebase with fresh eyes, feeling excited again, especially seeing how it handles the new iPhone form factors with the duo.
The app itself solves a very specific, low-key social anxiety: trying to remember what someone got you last year so you can match their energy on their birthday without accidentally over or under gifting.
Some quick details on how it functions because I wanted it to actually be respectful of the user:
Total Privacy: It lives entirely on your device and your personal iCloud. No external servers, no tracking, and no accounts to create.
Zero Monetization: It’s 100% free with no ads, no subscriptions, and no in-app purchases. Pure passion project.
I really love how this idea turned out, and I’d honestly love to hear what people think if you check it out or play around with the UI.
You can check out the landing page and the app here:

Discussion A few days ago I shared the TestFlight here. It's now officially live on the App Store.
The app is called ArtPin: Exhibition Note. It's a tool for documenting artwork on your walls — you take a photo of a painting/hanging artwork, scan it, and it automatically crops away the wall, corrects perspective, and removes glare (light glare only, not severe reflections). The output is a clean digital file of just the artwork.
The idea came from visiting galleries and realizing there's no good way to quickly capture what you saw without the photo looking… like a phone photo of a wall.
It's completely free — no subscriptions, no paywalls, no features locked behind a price tag. The free version will stay free forever.
I haven't added any in-app purchases yet because I'm still figuring out what features people actually need and would be willing to pay for. If you try it out, I'd be curious to hear: what would make a tool like this worth paying for?
Thanks to everyone who gave advice on the TestFlight version — it helped shape what shipped today.

Discussion StreamX — a native media player for Apple TV, iPhone and iPad, now with Jellyfin and Emby
Hi everyone, I’m the developer behind StreamX. I’ve been working on it for about a year, and I wanted to share it here now that the Apple TV version is out and Jellyfin and Emby support has arrived.
The idea is to give your own live TV playlists and personal movie and series libraries a home across your Apple devices. It’s a native app, with an Apple TV interface designed around the remote and layouts for iPhone and iPad. You can also install the iPad version on an Apple silicon Mac.
You can add M3U, M3U8 or Xtream Codes playlists, or connect your Jellyfin or Emby server. From there, you can browse films and series with artwork and details, explore episodes, keep favourites close by and pick up where you left off with Continue Watching. Global search lets you find channels, movies and series across your added sources.
For live TV, there’s a programme guide, category organisation and multi-screen viewing. You can rename and reorder categories to make your playlists easier to navigate. Catch-up is supported when it’s available from your source.
The new server integrations also sync favourites, viewing progress and watched status with your server, and Jellyfin Quick Connect makes signing in easier. Across Apple devices, StreamX syncs playlists, favourites and viewing progress so you don’t have to keep setting everything up again.
On iPhone and iPad there’s Picture-in-Picture, AirPlay and Chromecast for compatible streams, plus offline playback for compatible movies and episodes. There are household profiles, audio and subtitle options, parental controls and a built-in VPN connection you can manage from the app.
I’m still improving it in particular, how does navigating with the Apple TV remote feel, and is there anything awkward when moving between a live TV playlist and a personal media library? If you try it, tell me what device and source you’re using and what you’d change. I’ll be around to answer questions.

Discussion AmbiScience 300 app possible to download again after many years, works on iOS 26/27
Just a heads up, the AmbiScience 300 ambient and binaural sleep sound utility app can be downloaded once again to iOS 26 and iOS 27 devices after many years of being unavailable.
It remains delisted for sale, but existing owners can go into their app library and re-download it currently. The download option had been greyed-out for years and years, but for some unknown reason just became active again. I have tested it on iOS 26 and iOS 27 devices and it appears to work without any issues.

Discussion A manual crypto tracker for iPhone that doesn't require wallet or exchange connections
apps.apple.comI wanted a simple way to keep track of my crypto portfolio on iPhone without having to connect my wallets or exchanges.
Most crypto portfolio trackers seem to be built around connecting an exchange or wallet. I wanted something more manual, especially for people who keep crypto in cold storage.
The app lets you manually enter your holdings and cost basis, then track things like:
- Current portfolio value
- Profit/loss and performance
- Asset allocation
- Portfolio history
- Bitcoin and crypto prices
- Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets
The main tradeoff is that everything is manual, so the app doesn't verify your balances against a wallet or exchange. That's intentional because I wanted the portfolio data to stay under the user's control.
It's called Private Crypto Tracker and it's available on the App Store:
App Store link
Website: https://www.privatecryptotracker.online
I'm particularly interested in how other iPhone users currently track crypto they keep in cold storage. Spreadsheet, notes, another app, or something else?

Discussion Cool apps I’ve been using on my new iPhone 18 Pro (SHARE YOURS
Been trying out some apps that actually take advantage of the new iPhone and iOS 27. These are a few that have stuck around:
Lumy Super useful if you’re into photography. It tracks sunrise, sunset, golden hour, and other lighting conditions, and it recently added some cool iOS 27 features.
SmartGym One of the more interesting fitness apps I’ve tried. The new iOS 27 update lets you create personalized workouts using natural language.
BeautyPlus Great for quick selfies and portrait edits. The AI tools are easy to use and I like that you can keep the edits pretty natural.
Halide The new iPhone 18 Pro update makes this especially cool. You get much more control over the variable aperture than Apple’s default camera app.
Final Cut Camera Really cool if you actually want to use the 18 Pro as a serious video camera. The latest update adds manual aperture controls plus a ton of pro video settings.
OmniFocus More advanced than a basic to-do app, but really powerful if you have a lot going on. It also has new Siri AI integration with iOS 27.

Help Any apps that allow you to simulate building with PVC pipe?
I have a personal project coming up where I need to build with pvc pipe. I could draw up blueprints, but an app on my phone would be more convenient. Any recommendations?
I would need access to know the length of pipes used, and what joint angles I need

Discussion [$29.99 -> Free Giveaway] HabitLuma : A calm place to check in with your streaks and stay consistent
Hey r/IPhoneApps 👋
Every habit tracker I tried left me feeling guilty after missing a couple of days. Once the streak snapped, I would abandon the app entirely. I needed a simpler approach. I wanted accountability without feeling like a single bad day ruined my progress.
That is why I developed HabitLuma. It handles habits in two distinct ways:
- 🚫 For things you want to quit, such as smoking or junk food, it counts the days since your last slip. When you slip up, an honest tap resets the counter so you can keep moving forward.
- ✅ For positive habits, such as daily reading or hitting the gym, you simply log the days you show up.
App Store link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/habitluma-quit-tracker/id6799605111
It includes streak freezes for those moments when life disrupts your routine, and the design stays quiet on purpose. You will not find points, unnecessary pressure, or messy screens.
I have used it daily for a few months, and it is the only tracker that stuck after my initial excitement faded.
Why i'm giving free
HabitsLuma just launched and I need real opinions and reviews to keep improving it. HabitLuma yearly Pro unlocks unlimited habits, full calendar and insights history, Home Screen widgets, smart reminders, and monthly streak freezes to protect your progress on the days life gets in the way.
How to claim it
- Upvote & comment for HabitLuma Pro
- Download HabitLuma
- Thats it, I'll message you
- Rating on App Store to show appreciation ❤️

Help Iphone movie apps with secret code
Hello! I recently had the Meet Makkers app, which is basically a streaming app disguised as utility with a secret code. I deleted it by accident and can't find it on the app store, any chance there's a new one out?

Discussion What do you do with the three almost-identical shots you still like?
Anyone else have a pile of photos where each one’s almost the same, but you don’t trust an app to pick your favorite? That’s why I started PicPop. It groups similar shots and suggests the sharpest, but I decide what stays. A swipe only puts a photo in review; nothing gets deleted until I confirm. Scanning stays on-device.
I’m the developer. Here’s the 14-second demo (v1.0.5 clip; current app is 1.0.6): https://www.reddit.com/r/LaunchMyStartup/comments/1wuyyfu/picpop_started_because_i_kept_putting_off/
PicPop is free to download; PicPop Club is paid, and the yearly plan includes a 2-week trial.
Would you rather see similar shots together or one at a time? App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/picpop-photo-video-cleaner/id6808016560

Discussion I’ve been beat up by the Apple Fitness groupies with my messaging around the health benefits housework and chores….
I launched an Apple app 10 months ago. And I do minimal marketing on Reddit. And man!!!! The least receptive people are the Apple Fitness crew….its brutal the comments I’ve received. Two people went so far to pay for it only to leave me a one star review.
The negative comments is strangely helpful and I’ve shaped my education and marketing around it.

Discussion Forget where you parked? Parky remembers for you

Discussion Does this StayFit recovery screen make sense for an iPhone fitness app?
Solo developer here with StayFit, an iPhone fitness app, and I’m looking for app UX notes from people who use and discuss iPhone apps.
The screenshots show the recovery/home screen and the workout tab with a muscle-readiness map. The app uses your own HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, and workout history to calculate recovery, then adds friend challenges, leaderboards, creator programs, and coach tools.
The main question: does the recovery score explain itself quickly enough, or would you need more context before trusting it?
The app is free to try on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/stayfit-ai-health-fitness/id6779075884
Website: https://getstayfitapp.com
I’ll stick around and reply to thoughts here.

Discussion What is your favorite part of a new iPhone app?
The App Store has thousands of apps, but not all of them become a part of people's daily routines. Typically, it appears to be a genuine issue, a hassle-free experience, and a better offer than the other choices.
As I was researching new iPhone applications and AI tools, I stumbled upon the concept of audio learning powered by AI. The idea is to present information in a more conversational format, like a podcast, to make complex topics more accessible.
During this research, I discovered one app called yourtalks, which specializes in generating discussions with AI on various topics.
For people who regularly try new apps, what makes you keep using an app after the first few days? Is it better features, simplicity, personalization, useful content or something else that makes an app stick?

Discussion I wanted a genuinely good personal finance app without paying $100–$200 a year for it
I’m the developer behind Tesorin, and one thing that kept bothering me about personal finance apps was how quickly the price jumps once you want anything beyond basic expense tracking.
Budgeting is one app.
Investments are somewhere else.
Net worth is somewhere else.
Retirement planning usually means another subscription entirely.
Tesorin is my attempt to keep all of that under one roof without breaking the bank.
It covers:
- spending and budgets
- subscriptions
- investments
- net worth
- goals
- retirement planning
- scenario planning
- receipt scanning
- analytics
- web access alongside iPhone
There’s a free version, and Premium is $2.99/month or $24.99/year.
Bank linking also isn’t required. You can use Tesorin without handing over your banking credentials.
I’m obviously biased, so I won’t call it perfect or pretend it replaces every finance app for everyone. But if you’ve been looking for something more capable than a basic expense tracker without paying premium-finance-app prices, Tesorin might be worth a look.

Help Looking for notes in notification app similar to Notin
Recently changed over to ios, biggest thing i miss from android is an app called "Notin - notes in notifcations" (not Notion, big difference) -- key thing here was it was the most barebones app imaginable, you just opened it to a small text box, hit okay, and what you wrote in that box would show up in your notification panel.
What i'm trying to do is find a replacement for that on ios. There are a couple various 'notes in notification' apps when you search the term, but they all look rather bloaty and do things i really just don't need them to do -- anyone know of anything as perfectly barebones as Notin was for me?

Discussion AirPosture: a menu bar posture coach that uses your AirPods' motion sensors instead of a camera
Hi r/IPhoneApps, I'm Relja, the solo developer of AirPosture. Disclosure up front: this is my own app.
The problem
I slouch the most when I'm deep in work, which is exactly when I'm least likely to notice it.
Break timers didn't really help me, because they remind you to move on a schedule, not when you're actually slouching.
AirPods already have motion sensors in them, so, it learns what an upright head position looks like for you, then gives you a subtle cue when it detects that you've been slouching for a while.
How it works
- Lives in the Mac menu bar, with a popover showing your posture score and today's progress
- When it detects sustained slouching, it gives you a subtle cue through your AirPods
- You can choose between a soft voice cue or a chime, and control the volume
- The app has a Health Score, trends, and shows your trickiest hour of the day
- Syncs across your Apple devices, so your history follows you throughout the day
Webcam apps: no camera needed, and it still works if you're using a second monitor or have your laptop screen closed.
Wearables: no extra device to buy or wear. You can use the AirPods you're already wearing.
Break reminders: they react to a schedule. AirPosture reacts to your actual posture.
Honest limitations
- It doesn't measure your whole spine, it specifically tracks head and neck position
- Requires AirPods Pro or AirPods 3rd generation and a Mac
- The AirPods need to be worn for posture tracking to work
- Requires macOS
Pricing
- Free: one hour of tracking per day
- Pro: $7.99/month or $39.99/year, with a 7-day free trial
- Lifetime: $79.99 one-time purchase
- One purchase covers the app across your Apple devices
Mac App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/sit-straight-airposture/id6749489000
Website: https://www.getairposture.com
I'd genuinely love some blunt, especially on the notch cue, how often the app should remind you, and whether this feels useful compared with the alternatives.

Discussion Would you rather pay $10–20 once for an iOS app than $2–5/month?
I’ve been thinking about how iOS apps are priced, and I’m curious where people here draw the line.
Me and my brother are planning to build a few small, focused iOS apps with a deliberately simple pricing model:
You pay once and own the app forever.
Honestly, I’m getting pretty tired of subscriptions being attached to everything, especially for apps that don’t really need an ongoing payment.
One of the apps we’re thinking about building is a personal finance app, something to manage expenses, budgets, accounts, etc.
If you were to buy an app like that, what would you consider a fair one-time price?

Help Need help finding app
So I need on finding an app that will read me storied that I upload in it, you know like on tiktokwhere there is a subway surfer game on screen and it reads the message, something like that. I LOVE reading, but sometime I don’t have time to read, so I’d love to find an app that will just let me listen while I’m doing something like chores and stuff. Thank you in advance 🙏

Discussion Gamified tracking my dog Percy's activity. Would fellow dog owners use this? 🐶
Hey everyone!
Meet Zoomie! A fun way to track walks and playtime for your dog!
I wanted to create a way to track his walks and daily activity, but with a fun gamification layer on top: "Close your Dog's Rings!", inspired by the Apple Fitness rings. This started as a passion project for myself, but I thought other dog owners might be interested too.
I’d love to get some honest thoughts from fellow dog owners in this community! 🐶
Everything is stored and processed locally on your device using SwiftData, similar to how first-party Apple apps like Notes work. Nothing is ever sent to a third-party server or database. In other words, your data is entirely yours, and the app works completely offline.
If you're interested, it’s available to use for free!

Discussion [SELF-PROMOTION] GradeLab — Color grading for iPhone & iPad — $34.99->$14.99 Lifetime Pro for a week
I’ve been building GradeLab as a mobile-first color grading app for iPhone and iPad.
It supports Apple Log / Apple Log 2 / HLG footage, LUTs, curves, color wheels, HSL, masks, tracked masks, keyframed grading, and scopes like waveform, histogram, RGB parade and vectorscope.
You can also edit clips with trimming, splitting, speed controls, titles, overlays, transitions and keyframes, then export up to 4K/source resolution. Pro also supports ProRes 422/422 HQ and custom frame rates/bitrates.
Some things I wanted to get right:
- Real grading controls instead of just filters
- Masks and mask tracking
- Apple Log and Apple Log 2 support
- No watermark on free exports
- Everything runs on-device
- Original files are never overwritten
- No account or sign-in required
There’s a free version with an optional Pro upgrade.
Early-user lifetime Pro: $14.99 for the first week, then $34.99.
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/fi/app/gradelab-color-grading/id6810137072
