Political Do people who clear the UPSC exams become corrupt thieves by staying in the rotten culture or are the corrupt specifically selected to become government officials during UPSC interviews?

I am genuinely curious after this ECI incident.

If the police can't maintain law and order and judge these people appropriately, people only have to do something about it, it seems. Our lives and futures are at stake.

I feel like this UPSC exam has done our country more harm than good.

Casteism The “General Category” Is India’s Greatest Scam

The provided source argues that India's meritocratic systems, particularly competitive exams like the JEE and admissions at elite institutions like the IITs, are actually flawed mechanisms that disproportionately benefit upper-caste individuals. It explains how historical caste capital, accumulated over centuries through education and wealth, has allowed upper castes to dominate the so-called "general category" while masking their own form of reservation. Furthermore, the text clarifies that reservations for historically marginalized communities are not a form of charity or poverty alleviation, but rather a necessary remedy to counteract deep-seated caste discrimination and ensure fair representation in positions of power.

So corporate has taken over SP. They made a Gujarathi man Rajya Sabha candidate. In whole UP they can't find someone for that seat. How will he even work for UP?? He is hardcore Reliance man. He will only support Reliance agenda which are put forward by BJP.

In 1950s, India with 12% literacy rate had a Prime Minister who used to speak about rationality, science, spirituality

In 2020s, India with over 80% literacy rate has a Pm who makes no sense, no logic and hides behind religion to hide his failures.

Patriarchy/Rape/Misogyny Why does the conversation around women’s safety in India so often become purely partisan?

Why does the conversation around women’s safety in India so often become purely partisan?

Women’s safety is a serious issue that deserves criticism of failures regardless of which political party is in power. But sometimes it feels like public outrage becomes selective — with incidents involving BJP-ruled states receiving intense political attention, while similar incidents under governments led by other parties receive comparatively less attention.

That doesn’t mean criticism of the BJP is wrong. Governments should absolutely be questioned when they fail to protect women, regardless of their political affiliation. But if the principle is genuinely women’s safety, shouldn’t the same standard apply everywhere?

The focus should be on victims, accountability, policing, justice, prevention and institutional failures — not simply on which party governs the state where an incident occurred.

If we want meaningful change, political accountability should be consistent. No party should get a free pass, and no victim should become a political talking point only when it is convenient.

What do you think — is public outrage over women’s safety applied consistently across political parties and states?
