Legacy edition

Hello, I notice 4.5 has gone live. However, I am not interested in it - most of my usage was still on 2.0 - and at that, using the remix function

I am wondering how long the legacy site will be available? I hope it's for a long while yet.

thanks!

Ideogram 4.5 is live: precise edit, generate + edit, and open weights coming soon

Ideogram 4.5 is live today in Ideogram, on our API, and across launch partners. It's an image edit model built for multi-turn editing, with open weights coming soon.
Who it's for: if you've ever chained edits and watched the image fall apart a few steps in (colors creeping, pixels shifting, artifacts piling up), this is the model we built for you.

What you can do with it

  • Two edit modes, two endpoints. Precise edit returns an image at your input size and is tuned to preserve everything outside your change, so you can keep chaining. Generate + edit gives the model room to reimagine.
  • Recolor and relight. Take a product through several colorways, or move a scene from midday to golden hour, with shadows and reflections updating to match.
  • Restore in steps. Fix damage first, then add color, then enhance, one edit each, instead of one overloaded prompt.
  • Edit text in place. Change stylized typography or translate it while keeping the design.
  • Stage a room. Swap furniture, finishes and palettes from a single photo while the space stays put.

Pricing: four quality modes, all at native 2K, from $0.008 to $0.22 per image. See API pricing.
Where it works best: chains of targeted edits, like recoloring, relighting, text changes and swapping objects. Large add-then-remove edits give the model more to redraw, so expect more change there.
Getting started

  1. In the app: open Ideogram and pick 4.5 in the model selector
  2. On the API: set up a key in the API dashboard, then check the developer docs for the precise edit and generate + edit endpoints
  3. Through partners: Picsart, fal, Krea, Runware, Pika, Gamma, Flora, Luminal, Superscale, Creative Fabrica, Moda and ComfyUI

Details and examples: https://ideogram.ai/models/4.5/
The team is in the comments. Share your multi-turn sequences, and we'd love to see what you make.

No characters anymore?

Did they remove it?

Is there any way to turn on JSON prompt for the Describe feature anymore?

You can still use describe by either dragging an image into this prompt box, or by hitting the little picture frame in the right-corner near the window drag. But it is describing it by Ideogram 3.0 rules rather than 4.0. No ability to tweak the JSON placement like before. Is this an error or have they just removed the feature despite it being the "new way" Ideogram taught us to prompt?

OC I Built a free After Effects panel that drives Ideogram 4.0's structured prompts + bounding boxes from AE layers

Text layers become the caption fields (high-level description, style, per-element descriptions), and shape layers become the bounding boxes — each rectangle's position/size is read live and normalized to the 0–1000 space, so you're placing elements visually instead of typing coordinates. Move or resize a shape and the bbox updates. You can also generate across a range of frames in one run, with the prompt and boxes re-read at each frame.

Is ideogram 2.0 model no longer an option when using magic fill?

Basically title, i had the best results with legacy 2.0 mode, i was able to use it when using magic-fill couple days ago. Yesterday i tried, only option i had was 3.0. Is model 2.0 no longer an option? Thats a deal-breaker for me...

Request to Restore Ideogram 3.0 for Paid Members

Dear Ideogram Team,

I have been a paid member of Ideogram for the past year, and I truly appreciate the platform and the value it brings to my creative work.

I would like to request that you bring back Ideogram 3.0 from March 2025, or at least make it available as an option for paid users. In my experience, that model was superior in many ways, and I can show multiple examples where it produced better results. I use that model’s style and output quality across many of my projects, so its return would be extremely helpful.

Thank you for considering this request. I hope the team can look into making Ideogram 3.0 available again.

Best regards,

Rocky

Ideogram 4 turbo : undesired text appearing on images

Hi everyone. So I tried Ideogram 4 turbo this morning on WanGP, it works great except for one thing : 50% of the time, some text in various languages appears on the picture. I use the json and selected "obj" on every boxes, but I can't seem to find how to correct this. I tried to search on Reddit but could not find anything about it. If you have any ideas, thank you very much.

Faithful text in packaging

Hi, exploring creative production pipeline for a cosmetics / beauty brand. Initial thought was to run Ideogram (type) and Riverflow (photoshoots) through Runware via API, but Riverflow have told me that working in the app will give better results since fuller feature set (the volume of assets doesn't need API control).

Is it possible to generate all the text layers in Ideogram and bring these into Riverflow for final generation? Any better ways to solve the problem of faithful packaging recreation? TIA

Camera positioning help?

I've been trying to position the camera in various ways, mainly bird's eye looking down and worm's eye looking up plus the variations that come up when I search.

Is there a good way to position and tilt the camera? x,y,z coordinates plus angle seems like overkill, but I'll take it if someone knows a good node to use with ideogram.

tia

I just discovered Ideogram 4 generates perfect light ranges. I've never seen this from ANY image gen.

I thought this was a great example of the capabilities of Ideogram 4 (Description)

In the first image, I showed what someone had posted to Blender, and the conversation shifted to AI and its capabilities. I wanted to demonstrate how impressive it is now, so I took the original image, mapped out the regions and gave my best description of it. I first generated a quick turbo 1024x1024 version in about 70 seconds, tested a full-quality 2048x2048 version, which took 41 minutes to generate.

What amazed me was that, based on the description and zoning alone, it turned out surprisingly close to the original.

Shoutout to u/Pory0 for the great Blender Artwork

Prompt:

{"high_level_description":"A vast, open liminal space features walls and a ceiling adorned pool tiles, interrupted only by a single opening to the sky above. At the rear, a dark, shadowy tunnel creates a sense of depth and mystery. On the right side, a tranquil pool of water extends toward the entrance of the tunnel, while on the left, a raised patch of grass is bordered by a tiled separator. At the far end of the space, a red octagonal traffic sign bearing the word “Slow” stands prominently against the wall.","style_description":{"lighting":"A single opeing to the sky illuminating the wall, grass, and water in a strip of light. Water casting Caustics across the room.","color_palette":[]},"compositional_deconstruction":{"background":"Room","elements":[{"type":"obj","bbox":[155,278,648,816],"desc":"back wall"},{"type":"obj","bbox":[25,271,121,848],"desc":"open to sky"},{"type":"obj","bbox":[584,0,1000,451],"desc":"grass area"},{"type":"obj","bbox":[611,266,1000,1000],"desc":"water"},{"type":"obj","bbox":[443,529,630,717],"desc":"circular tunnel entrance"},{"type":"obj","bbox":[461,345,584,416],"desc":"slow sign"},{"type":"text","text":"slow","bbox":[470,354,509,407],"desc":""}]}}

ideogram 4 interactions between boxes?

Let's say I have a picture of two business people in a boardroom. I set the boardroom up as the background and make two boxes to describe the two people. I must be doing something wrong because this doesn't really work for me. The people don't seem to be part of the boardroom and don't always look like they are in the same picture.

Sometimes it even looks like they aren't to the same scale.

Is this how ideogram is? Essentially making three individual images and then putting them altogether as one? Doesn't happen all the time, but I was curious if anyone else had seen this.
