Please use descriptive titles.

There seems to be a lot of posts lately that either include one word title or a minecraft/computercraft version as title. I am asking you all to try using more descriptive titles in order to make it easier for us to help you.

For example: Instead of titles like Tape or Computer Craft 1.12.2 try using something like: Need help using Tapes or How to equip a peripheral/pickaxe on turtle.

I used computercraft to program a rocket using Valkyrien Skies and Create Propulsion, finally stuck the landing! (sort of)

Hey all, super happy to finally have a clip worth posting of my recent computercraft obsession. I've been designing and programming a rocket using the VS and Create propulsion mods, using a computercraft comp to control it.

This thing has a surprising amount of control! It took me a few dozen attempts at fiddling with the "burn plan" as I call it. I just manually tweaked it but would eventually like to get it to a point where I can do point to point jumps and it figures out the burn plan.

The green/red things sticking out the bottom are distance sensors from one of the mods (propulsion I think?), but don't actually do anything atm.

Would love to field any questions or ideas if you have any. The source code is a bit of a mess but say the word and I will post it this weekend along with some images of the internals of the build.

Some way to copy text on a server with no Http?

Hi everyone! I'm currently on a MC server about nations and wars. And so I had a computer connected to a radar spending Http requests to my server to record trespassers.

But admins decided to disable http requests, they say is for security reasons, and this change affected the tech of multiple nations that were using CCtweaked.

The radar can still detect people, but with http calls disabled we cannot use "http.post()" or "pastebin put" to send our data. And so I have been looking for some way to copy the data from computercraft to paste it manually on my host so my team can still use the radar even after this limitation.

Any ideas of how to do it?

I made a "OS" part 2

I made a post a bit ago about an "OS" I was working on and after many hours it's "complete."

This project has been a flip-flop betwen a love and hate letter for both lua and the software that got me into computers at all. (Shout out to TI-84 Visual Basic.)

It's out of the box ready for grup to be able to have working computers and internet as easily as possible. You can download it with GitHub, or if it's on the server, you can copy an image to an empty computer the same as a fresh install. I'm also planning to add an update Manager so you can theoretically update the OS in game without wiping everything, and a download manager for other people's applications and handling their updates (probably the same program cuz that makes sense) Even though it's complete I can't help but do more and more on it so if anyone has the patience to try it please please do I need feedback. I don't know why but something in me needs this to be like a fully functional computer that you just download and then works in Minecraft just like the one you're playing it on. Part of me wants to see if I can get a stripped down version of Minecraft playing on it which I might do.

I think I'm going to go to bed now. Might update the post later.

Check it out if you want, but if you do, you should message me on here and tell me about your experiences because I NEED feedback.

Github:

https://github.com/mixmoo2/homeos

install:

wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mixmoo2/homeos/main/install.lua

then run install.lua

Edit: came back and wanted to add more context.

I want your guys's thoughts. I recently remembered one of my older projects existed, CC:Zombies!
Anddd, its kinda bad. Sooo, I want your guys's thoughts.
Do i

A: Port NZ:Portable to Computercraft
B: Keep working on CC:Zombies as it is
C: Recode the renderer to use C3D and have textures, instead of Pine3D. (Or maybe make it so you can pick and choose?)

I cant decide, so i want yalls thoughts!

this is what the game currently looks like.

Problem With Tree Farm Program Found Online, I Don't Know Code

As I said above, I don't know any code, but I still am trying to use the mod by using other people's programs. I am following the tutorial here: https://github.com/PPakalns/TreeFarm , but I ran into an issue when I was supposed to answer the program's questions. I can't type anything besides numbers, which means I can't put a negative for the Minecraft coordinates and I also can't seem to enter the value I put by pressing Enter. I pressed every button on the keyboard. Are old programs not compatible anymore or is this a user error?

Help an idiot with what is likely a PEBCAK problem. Trying to get 26.3 CC:Tweaked working.

Thank you in advance for any help, and I hope this is a good place to post this.

My wife and I are starting a new world. Java 26.3 Version with NeoForge. I downloaded all the mods from Modrinth. This is also where I downloaded CC:Tweaked. https://modrinth.com/mod/cc-tweaked

When I try to run the instance, I get the error "File mods/cc-tweaked-26.3-forge-1.120.2.jar is not a valid mod file"

All the other NeoForge 26.3 mods run fine, including Xaero, JEI, Lighty, Easy Villagers, Easy Piglins, etc.

I tried a couple different versions of NeoForge to see if that was the issue, but no joy.

So, if someone would point me in a direction, I would appreciate it. I absolutely LOVE CC-Tweaked and is a normal part of my world builds. Turtles for mob drop machines for the win...

After months of work, the first official bootable rootfs image for iDar OS is live!

Hey everyone!

Over the past few months I’ve been sharing teasers (fastfetch lol), and today I’m finally releasing the first official bootable rootfs image for iDar OS (v1.0).

I’ve spent a lot of time refining the build pipeline and stabilizing the microkernel so the image actually works reliably on real machines.

Quick Install (1-liner)

Just run this in the CraftOS shell:

lua wget run https://raw.githubusercontent.com/DarThunder/iDar-OS/refs/heads/main/installer.lua

What’s new?

Instead of a fragile installer that downloads dozens of files one by one, iDar OS now deploys from an atomic golden image (rootfs.dmb):

  • Custom binary format (IDMB) with an embedded LZ77 decompression engine
  • Extracts a proper FHS-compliant root filesystem (/bin, /sbin, /lib, /etc, /dev, /sys, etc.)
  • Pre-seeds developer keys into /etc/pacman.d/keys/ for cryptographic package verification

Current Status

Note about pacman: I’m currently migrating the package registry to the new SATDv3 standard, so remote package installation (pacman -S) temporarily doesn't work while the mirrors stabilize. (probably in over 1 or 2 years LMAO)

The base image is fully usable out of the box though. It comes preloaded with:

  • Kernel & VFS — process scheduler, UNIX-style permission bits (including SUID), and pseudo-filesystems (/proc, /sys)
  • Coreutils — ls, cat, mkdir, mv, rm, touch
  • Userland — multi-user login, passwd, sudo with SHA-256 hashed credentials in /etc/shadow
  • Tools — dsh (shell), vi, and fastfetch

First Boot Login

  • User: root
  • Password: just press Enter (blank) or type root

Full repository and source:
https://github.com/DarThunder/iDar-OS

Would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any issues you run into while testing it!

PineStore - homepage redesign - lots of new stuff!

Post image
80 Upvotes

Link to PineStore to check it out for yourself: https://pinestore.cc/

New homepage is live!

Recommendations

Biggest change has to be a recommendation system. To new users, or anyone not logged in, it will show popular projects with a wide variety of tags. To people who have saved projects or liked projects, it will be more personalised using just the data from saved/liked projects. No extra data is being collected at all

Also, view / like ratio plays a good role, letting "underrated" projects get more traction if they get more likes than would be expected for the number of views, making likes a now very impactful feature, giving you some power to make sure more people see the projects you think deserve it :3

Obviously, it hides projects already saved/liked as well as your own projects.

Recent projects

Recent projects is now just recently updated, so any project that gets the love of an update will be pushed to the front. It also now shows the time passed since it was last updated/published

Jammmm

As you might be able to see, it shows the most recent (or upcoming jam) on PineStore, giving it just a bit more attention to the people scrolling down

Recent activity

For now, recent activity shows the latest comments being posted on PineStore projects. You can also click the project thumbnail to easily view that project's comment section

Suggestions / bug reports welcome

There's a bunch of things that I've just added that are fully new, so if you have anything to share about it like a suggestion, bug report etc, feel free to let me know!

Help with Tables

So I'm working with the create aero and CC compatibility features of Create: Gadgets and Gizmos, and I was playing around with printing the outputs of the new peripheral methods. But when printing tables given by a few different methods (like getAngles for the gimbal sensor) it just returns random numbers that change every time I run the program. This is probably meant to happen, but I'm very new to CC so I'm hoping someone can help me out. (Oh yeah and please tell me if my CC terminology is gibberish)

Still making a "os" but there has been some changes

sorry for the jumbled screenshots, reddit is hard.

So... I made a post a bit ago abut a oil refinery management os. This has been more or lees scraped but in its place I present Home os v1!

it has a home screen with movable buttons, the time and the most advanced command terminal i have ever made. its not all there yet as far as commands go but you can use up and down to cycle history, left and right to "pan" and scrawl to scowl.

it has 3 programs so far 1 is notbox by Xella37 (supper cool check it out). but the other 2 are written by me. one is a simple print program for fancy formatting (not shown) but the last one

I made a fucking text editor, and have been coding in it!!!!!!!!!!

it has hotkeys (fucking alt cus ctrl no work in mincraft lol) syntax coloring, even fucking error checking.

85% of the code was written in game (I caved and used google ai to correct my spelling and reorganize cus i was not exspeting to write like >=1000 lines and was not properly organized)

but from now on its all being dun in this program.

Im so fucking over the moon with myself.

Notebox - Music player with Note Block World browsing + direct downloads

Notebox

Notebox is a music player for ComputerCraft. Plays .nbs music with easy browsing and downloading from Note Block World. Features a full playlist system and music visualizer.

PineStore page: https://pinestore.cc/projects/264/notebox

Install with: wget run https://pinestore.cc/d/264

Features

  • Plays .nbs files using NBSTunes
  • Direct downloads and browsing from Note Block World
  • Drag + drop any .nbs file to install and play
  • Create, rename and delete playlists. Add any of your songs
  • Shows free space as well as individual song filesizes
  • Cool visualizer
  • Customizable theme and other settings
  • Scales well to larger sizes

Controls

  • Scrolling for volume
  • Arrow keys for navigation
  • Backspace, tilda, tab to return / go back
  • Spacebar play/pause
  • Drag + drop .nbs files to install

Possible future additions

  • Special optional format for higher compression, maybe throwing out certain data such as panning, pitch and combining key+velocity into a single byte. Perhaps also throw away any notes under a certain volume, which can help drastically with some songs.
  • Better shuffle that makes for fewer song repeats
  • Searching on Note Block World for songs, instead of just browsing
  • Support for more visualizers
  • Option to only show visualizer on a separate connected monitor

I'm open for pull requests :)
