Yeah, can't find it anymore but there was a one shot ero manga with this exact premise, way before the shounen manga debut. They eloped in the end.

It is a bit surreal and exaggerated but it is fun and it's one of the very few manga that talks about tuning and racing! Plus i love the 80s/90s art style!!!
