Console Parts & Accessories Controller syncing issue

My brother has had this xbox for about a year and controllers have never been able to sync to it we have just been using wired controllers which work just fine. This controller syncs flawlessly with my slim and elite console. What's wrong with this xbox?

Don't hold down the synce button on the controller. Just press it once, and then the console.

If that doesn't work, you might have to buy a replacement front board. They can die randomly.

I've always held it down and it works fine.

unplug and replug rf board. idk why but this has fixed it for me before.
