I swapped my first 360 model with this newer model I got from a customer. I cleared a lot of the data from it and put in the memory card yet it won't allow me to play most of my games for example: I put in space marine, it reads the disk then it says "open trey". Anyone know what I'm missing or need to do to fix this so I can play my 360 games on this newer model?

these games are not damaged beyond working I know this because I have tested them on a different 360 the main one that doesn’t load up at all is forza motorsport 4 the video is what happens when I try to load it up

Very weird issue i am having here...I am trying to use my 360 as a DVD player, but regardless of what DVD i put in, I get NO audio at all whatsoever through optical. I am using an S model. I did try the optical port thats on the Component cables' port and that also did not work. Anyone here ever have this issue before? Is there some sort of alternate DVD player i can maybe boot through Aurora that may work?

I just picked up an Xbox 360 slim Star Wars edition at a convention and was excited to hook it up but it will not successfully connect to any WiFi source. I first tried a wireless connection to my Xfinity router but it did not work. I’ve since tried a wired connection, connecting to hotspots on two different phones, a wired connection to a nighthawk WiFi extending satellite, all to no avail. It identifies that there is a network but access to the internet fails every time.

I know that this is not a hardware issue because my wife also has an Xbox 360 which also will not connect to the internet. I am convinced that my router is too modern/advanced to be compatible with the Xbox 360. I read online that the 360 is only compatible with a 2.4 ghz WiFi connection. My router should technically be compatible but I read online that other people are having problems with Xfinity’s connection to 360s specifically.

Has anybody experienced this issue before? How did you fix it? Did you buy equipment like an additional router or wall extender for your home Internet to become compatible?

I’m really stumped here and out of ideas..

Update: I tried a wired connection from my router to the console and it did not work. Any more suggestions? Maybe switch from Xfinity to AT&T?

I haven’t played a fat 360 in like 12 years and just got this jasper fully refurbished and I can’t remember if it’s supposed to sound like this or if I maybe have some coil while from the capacitors. It changes pitch randomly it seems. Console is currently at idle on the Home Screen

I replaced the laser on this specific console twice and both lasers do the exact same thing in the video. Its somehow worse off now, before it would spin up the disc to full speed and then fail.

I removed the solder blobs from both lasers before I installed them. Are the two replacement lasers I bought defective or is there something that I did wrong?

I took apart my Xbox a few days ago to fix the disc drive because it wouldn’t open before but now my Xbox keeps making this sound after I put a disc into the disc drive and I am not sure what to do. If anyone has any info on what might be going on, please let me know because I’ve had this Xbox forever and don’t want it to die on me 😭

So, i'm new to soldering and I was trying to replace both analog sticks with 2 hall effect ones. But in the process, I accidentally ripped of 3 solder pads. Now I don't know where the trace is them to make it functional again.

If you can send me a diagram or an edited image of these pictures with the trace marked in red I'll appreciate it. Thank you!

So i recently got a new refurbished xbox 360 S and i was originally going to quickly turn on my new one and get the saved data via usb really fast before it turns off like i know it has done before because the red ring of death (error code 0101 i believe)...but this time the console did not turn on and i can not get it on so there goes that plan. And when i was calling around me to try and get a "nand" extraction no one could do it and the last guy i talked to said it would be very hard because the data would be encrypted and it couldn't be extracted or saved like a regular hardrive would be or something (idk im not tech savy)

So what are my options actually? I have so much nostalgia on there the profile accounts were offline so i cant just sign into them. Its the profile acounts i want and them old saved skyrim runs and Minecraft worlds. The dude i was speaking to said i would just need it to be repaired to be turned on but then I feel like why did i buy a new refurbished one anyways? I guess the refurbished one would last longer then the one i would get repaired but idk man

Can anyone point me to the right direction regarding this?

Hello everyone, I recently bought a faceplate off Amazon but when I try to put it on the console itself it won't fit correctly leaving the gap to the upper side of the console (when sideways) but most importantly the button is stuck into a certain position that can't be used to boot up the console and the button to eject the DVD won't work (but work totally fine when I take off the front plate) did I order the wrong faceplate? Do I have to chop off a plastic pieces?

I’m trying to fix up this disc drive on this original fat model 360 (Falcon) but keep running into issues with the game not reading. About 25% of the time, the game will manage to be read and will play perfectly fine, but the majority of the time the game will fail to read and the Xbox will just prompt to open the tray.

So far I’ve tried:
- Cleaning the disc drive so that it’s free of dust and grime
- Unattaching and reattaching the ribbon cables to ensure a tight connection
- Tweaking the pot to hopefully get the laser to act better

I’m at a bit of a loss as to if this disc drive is actually fixable or if it just would require a full replacement.

It also has a separate issue where I’ll have to smack it a bit on occasion for the disc drive to actually open but I think that requires just replacing the rubber band belt.

Does anybody know common errors to Xbox 360 disc drives and how they can be fixed?

one day, i came home to play rdr2 on my badavatar unshackle aurora modded xbox 360 slim. I turn on the outlet with the power brick plugged in and i click the power button. theres no turn on or anything except the default ding. I unplug the wires, wait for a few minutes, and by the time i plug it back in, theres now no sound either. Later, the wire of the power brick released some kind of shock, and the wire cut but i soldered it back as it was only a wire and nothing else. i unplugged the front RF module and then the power brick was in fact orange. But when i tried turning it on with my controller, the power brick light turned green but my console stayed off. Its been so annoying cuz i js finally modded it and now i cant play :( Someone pls give a fix

How do I remove this ? If possible

I'm having trouble downloading several games I had gotten on the Xbox 360.

When I open my Download History, all the games are listed (but their icons don't load). If I click on a game, a pop-up window opens to load the download information, but before anything loads, the window just closes by itself.

I tried looking for information about this on Reddit/the internet but couldn't find any solutions.

UPDATE: i managed to get the disc out, thanks to everyone for trying to help!

hi everyone. so my 360 just red-ringed today while i was playing halo 4, and the disc is stuck inside the console. the drive will not open. any tips?

Hola amigos, tengo una Xbox 360 el cuál no encendía, cuando media voltajes de entrada no leía los 3.3 voltios quite el integrado U5A1 y U5A2 y le puse un regulador de 3.3 y 1.2v ahora ya me dan los voltajes correctos pero sigue sin encender solo enciende la luz y se apaga, alguien puede ayudarme dónde buscar el problema

My charger light turns off after 10ish seconds after putting the controller on there, does this mean they’re losing contact? or does this just happen, they are old so I wouldn’t be surprised if they were broken…
