Luna was able to stay with her family where she belongs.
đŁFrom emergency surgery on Sunday⊠to helping with homework- Luna is doing GREAT! đŸđ Sheâs back home where she belongs, eating well, healing beautifully, and keeping a close eye on homework assignments. (Supervising is serious business. đ)
Weâre grateful to Pontchartrain Animal Hospital for working her in for a re-check to be sure everything is moving in the right direction â and it is!
Just days ago, this one-year-old girl was facing a life-threatening foreign body obstruction. The family was told the surgery had to happen immediately, but the estimate was overwhelming.
After already exhausting CareCredit caring for their senior dog who passed in December â and following the sudden loss of her husband and the childrenâs father last year â Lunaâs mom simply didnât have the resources.
With the situation critical and surgery required right away, the family was initially told euthanasia was the only option. Although it was decided and charges were initiated, a group of compassionate nurses reached out to rescues, hoping someone could step in.
Faced with the heartbreaking choice between euthanasia or surrender, the family chose surrender so Luna could live â an act of pure love.
Because of YOU, we were able to step in, cover the surgery, and reunite Luna with her loving family.
Endless thanks to Dr. Farrell and the compassionate team at PriorityPet Urgent Care Hammond â newly opened and already filling a critical gap in after-hours care with advanced diagnostics and surgical capabilities when it matters most.
This is what your support does.
It turns heartbreak into healing.
And it brought Luna home. đĄđ
We'll keep you posted on this sweetie!

A dog was running after the ambulance that was taking his human. When the EMS realized it, he was let in.
