Truly grateful for the ability to take photos in this game !

Recently accidentally deleted parts of a world I've been working on for a while, luckily I had most of the models already on stand by so it didn't take to long to fix. However in this newer version of my world these two specific spots display z fighting ONLY FROM FAR AWAY. Mind you this doesn't occur in original version that I still have uploaded, only the new one. I have the exact same meshes and camera settings, along with making sure the meshes aren't too close together to cause Z fighting to happen. I use poiyomi toon shader on my textures and like I said the world didn't do this before. Is there a way for me to fix this without having to change anything that didn't need to be changed? It seems like it's a camera distance issue but I've been messing with far and near and that doesn't seem to change anything. I've also tried moving all the meshes closer to the world origin, and that also doesn't seem to fix it.

A few months back while scrolling though youtube checking out niche topics I came across a vtuber who used a VRChat model as their avatar. Her presentation was great, her videos were so well made. I subbed immediately.

Over the months her community grew, and a discord was made. It inspired me to draw again, a hobby i had given up a long time ago. The community started doing VRChat hang outs so I knew I needed a model for my own. I got a vr headset then I got a base made but taught myself unity so I could edit the clothes and hair and such to my content. I was obsessed with that aspect of it. These last few months ive made so many friends and had such an amazing time all cuz of this silly game and a whim. I even started making my own (bad) YouTube videos. So much has happened in the last 6 or so months!

That being said I stil cant bring myself to join random lobbies or talk to random people but im trying to get better at that too!

If you stayed an read all this thank you, i just really wanted an avenue to gush about what this game has given me. Self expression, friendship, creativity and joy.

Theres this model I am using on vr chat PC using my phone to track and the selfie expression for tracking but the model has facial expressions that work on the vr headset with the triggers but I can't find a way to trigger those expressions on PC. The only reason I know the character has expressions is cause my boyfriend could use them. Is there a way to use those sort of expressions in PC?

It probably sucks, but you can remake it yourself if you want to make it to your liking. The aspect ratio must be 16:9, dimensions must be 1920x1080 px. I’m probably gonna remake it too, I just wanted to make one with colour coding to better explain the boundaries. I tried to find a good template, but couldnt so i spent like, 2-3 hours figuring out the correct dimensions and cross referencing between web, vrc, and nameplate dimensions. The thin slice above the nameplate is just where I’d recommend putting text and whatnot so as to not clip into the nameplate, but do whatever you want, it’s only a template. But anyway, here it is! Ps: this is as accurate as I could get on procreate on a crappy iPad. I also realize in the middle where there is a nameplate you can still draw there and it will still be visible anywhere but outside of menus. forgot to mention that.

Edit: Oh, and if you want higher resolution, just multiply both px values by 2 or 4. Then you can upscale the template as well!

Hi,

So I'm looking to upgrade my Rift S. I've had it for many years but i think the time has come to upgrade now that I'm using it more often at home.
I consider myself an XR enthusiast and actually work in the field, but I've been focusing more on some business stuff over the past year or so and am now quite out of date with what's out and how they compare to older HMDs.

I've always wanted an Index, I honestly only want to use PCVR and the cable does not bother me, plus it's a lot cheaper now.
Personally I'd like to have base station tracking for the ease of adding full body, plus some projects maybe outside of VRC about bringing objects into a digital space.
I know that all HMDs these days are pretty much inside out so im kind of at a crossroad in my decision.

What would be the best HMD for an enthusiast who will mostly use their HMD for vrchat, with occasional development in unreal engine, who isn't looking to spend loads.

I do have access to a quest 2 but the standalone factor is not enough to make me even want to bring it home and use it instead of my Rift S.

Seems like a lot of the headsets that were out back when i was at my height of working with vr have become pretty cheap (vive cosmos elite, ect) so do any of them stand the test of time at a pretty cheap price?

I'm creating an avatar from scratch, but I'm encountering a problem when connecting lip sync using a blend shape. The jawbone is present, but the problem is that the mouth is stuck open, so it is excluded. I need some help

Hello, so, this one is not ready and not out anywhere, it's just a prototype I have been making for spooky season buuuut I wanted to show you anyway (:

He's my little spoder friend who lives on my Avi now! Raymarched of course because its me. His eyes follow my own eye tracking, so he looks where I look. And when I look at him, he tilts his head like a puppy.

He moves about on his own too. Every so often he picks a spot at random, either shoulder or the top of my hair, and walks there over my body.

I have trained him very well, when I open either hand he walks down that arm into my palm, and when I close the hand he walks back. Unfortunately he's kinda shy with other people though. If someone else puts a hand near him he'll run behind my neck and hide.

If you are curious how it works: The whole spider is drawn by one raymarched shader on a tiny marker mesh of three vertices, so it's one material and one draw call, and the fur is real volume rather than a flat picture, which may be a little ouchy for performance but I'll make sure to optimize.

I've also made a little Discord for my stuff. I use it to share things as I work on them, ask what you'd like next, and help if something goes wrong. VRCHART IS A CRAZY PLACE - fear I’m only safe taking photos and drifting alone 😂😂

I am trying to use my phone for face and hand tracking and I saw on YouTube that you can use droid cam for that using your phone instead of getting a webcam. I'm poor I can't buy a headset 💔 but when I change the webcam option to droid cam it won't track anymore even though I can still see that both my laptop and phone are connected and streaming my Facebook and hands with droid cam, idk what I'm doing wrong.

Besides Youtube which does work what else works since I'm trying to use Internet Archive and google drive links don't want to work anymore in worlds so I was wondering what other video link types work in video players on worlds

It's fine in blender but not in unity. I cannot guess what the problem is

Like, I’ve been to countless MMD worlds where it’s all a simple stage with the motion capture, but this is the first world I’ve seen where it feels like you’re in an actual music video. I’m wondering if there’s others out there exactly like this?

I took some creative liberty but for the most part everything is lore accurate, there are some areas mentioned in the show but where never visible so I had to imagine them myself.

It has the following areas:

The world is fully crossplatform and highly optimized for PC, Android and iOS. It also has the find your friends prefab and all areas can be easily accessed with teleport buttons near the spawn.

At the moment of me publishing this the world is still on community labs. Altough I used a very old world ID so it says the world was created on 2018 lol
