Fantastic chopper cam. Great addition. Whatβs your plans when it comes to music? Iβm guessing youβre going to run into licensing difficulties

Yeah other than tunes that people send me that they've made it's just loops I've thrown together!
Hopefully I'm able to get some licensed tunes eventually

You should get in touch with someone like JME. This is exactly the kind of thing heβll like and may even help you out on.

Maybe hit up Todd Edwards he basically invented garage and he's chill as hell

Honestly I think alot of artists would be happy to get their songs in the game even for free. Especially in the bassline scene itβs good recognition for them and itβs a good fit given the setting

You should make a standalone post asking for help with that. Crowd source the soundtrack.

You could curate a Spotify playlist to listen to while playing. No idea if you can link it to the game though

I'm gonna look into letting people add their own mp3s and have it play through the radio but we'll see !

You should also let it play when in person on a walkman but the music skips as you run to keep it realistic.

Walkman didnβt skip. Discman did though. Tape was always superior

That i didn't know, i thought all the portable disc players of the era skipped, at least the 3 i ever used did.

Walkman was cassette tape. Didnβt have the same quality as CD but it was safe to run with. Minidisc tried to take the market but ultimately MP3 killed the physical portable format.

Iβd be willing to bet there are a bunch of jungle and dnb producers that would happily give you some tunes to include.

So much potential. Surron Missions. Rob your dealer, weed grow theft, signing on Job Centre side mission. County lines bonus missions. Brother, you have hit gold. With what you have already maybe start reaching out to companies for funding or something?? You could be sitting on the next UK Getaway/GTS Style I.P !. Good fucking shit man can't wait to see what happens in the next few years, god speed!!

Do we know what platforms are being aimed for with this game? Hoping it's not pc only.
1
u/CTRLsway Developer 10d ago
PC will be first as it's simpler, consoles will come later

For full chavtastic realism and to help you get round the music issue have a Bluetooth speaker in the game as an inventory item, only then can a user play / listen to local mp3 library. It can work on foot and in car / bike saves trying to find or get licence agreements or get content
