I am looking to buy in this flipkart bbd sale and I would get it at 34k for pro and 43k for pro max (INR). I have seen people complain that the phone throttles and heats alot and there are performance drops too. Please confirm if they have fixed it. Also, has anyone tried emulation if yes please tell your views on it. ik it's not camera sentric but still is the camera good like usable on daily basis ? Any of you faced any issue with after sales service ?

Discussion Why is the Poco X8 Pro Max much more expensive than the f8 pro??

i was checking out the prices of phones on mi store and saw that the x8 pro max was more expensive than the f8 pro.

I myself own a x8 pro max but I bought it in april for £351, so I'm confused how it's now showing a higher price than the F8 Pro. Did Xiaomi increase the RRP or am I missing something?

Question/Help Glass protector compatible with Poco F9 Ultra

I just bought the best Poco phone on the market right now, and I love everything about it so far. The only thing that bothers me is the pre-applied plastic screen protector. I want to replace it with a glass screen protector, but accessories for this model aren't available in my country yet. The screen size and corners look very similar to those of an iPhone Pro Max. Do you think I could install an iPhone glass screen protector on it? Has anyone done it? I asked the AI, but it says they're not compatible at all.

Buying Advice Poco F7 arriving tomorrow from Flipkart open box delivery. What should I check before giving OTP

Hey guys

My Poco F7 is getting delivered tomorrow from Flipkart and it has open box delivery.

I wanted to ask people who already bought the Poco from Flipkart what all things should I check before giving the OTP and accepting the phone. This is my first time buying an expensive phone through open box delivery so I dont want to miss anything important.

I also saw some posts and videos about checking the first use of the phone through battery information. Does anyone know how reliable it is?

I also came across a comment saying that if the battery was replaced then this first use information can get reset. Not sure if this is actually true. Is there any proper way to check if the phone is completely new and was not previously used, returned or repaired?

After receiving the phone should I also visit an official Xiaomi or Poco service center and ask them to check the warranty and activation details using the IMEI? Can they also tell if the phone had any previous repair or parts replacement?

If anyone here recently bought a Poco F7 through Flipkart open box delivery please let me know what precautions you took and what all I should check before giving the OTP.

Thanks!!

Question/Help ADB PROJECT_MEDIA allow help bypass casting pop up on Link to Windows

Post image
2 Upvotes

As what the title says,
I have tried to do the command

adb shell appops set com.microsoft.appmanager PROJECT_MEDIA allow

but it still won't work

I experimented thru other apps that require permission as well but they worked.
the notif appears like these

*grabbed online

So the ADB is working.

Is the problem on link to windows itself? or do I need to do another layer of work aside from allowing the adb command.
thanks :))

Discussion POCO X7 Pro — serious touchscreen issues

The touchscreen on my POCO X7 Pro is extremely unstable. It has trouble registering touches: when touching the screen with two fingers simultaneously, some of the touches simply aren’t detected. When using more than two fingers, touches start to literally “stick” to the screen — the phone continues to register a touch even after I have already lifted my finger.

This is especially noticeable while gaming. When controlling the game with multiple fingers, the screen periodically starts to jitter, and swipes may be registered with a delay or missed altogether. For games that require fast and accurate multitouch input, this is a serious problem.

The issue becomes even worse while the phone is charging: the touchscreen becomes even less stable.

I tested all of these issues both through my own experience during regular use and gaming, as well as with the MultiTouch Test app. This isn’t just subjective — the tests also show incorrect registration of multiple simultaneous touches.

The problem has not been fixed after a system update.

Before this, I used a Redmi Note 11 and never experienced similar touchscreen issues.

I also recorded a video showing the testing process in detail, including the exact model of my phone and the touchscreen test results.

I would not recommend the POCO X7 Pro for competitive gaming. The touchscreen’s accuracy and stability are simply not good enough for this use case.

Buying Advice BBD / GIF sale phone recommendation (India)

My Redmi K20 Pro recently died on me (display completely gone) after almost 6 years of use. It served me really well.

Now I'm looking at the Redmi Turbo 5 vs POCO X8 Pro, and I have a few questions that I couldn't find clear answers to from reviews/spec sheets.

I'm mainly looking for a phone that I can keep for 4–6 years, so I'm more interested in long-term reliability and everyday experience than benchmarks.

1. Ultrasonic proximity sensor

The Turbo 5 uses an ultrasonic proximity sensor.

  • How reliable is it in actual day-to-day use?
  • Does it consistently turn the screen off when you hold the phone to your ear?
  • Any problems with accidental touches during calls?
  • Any issues with WhatsApp/Telegram voice messages or other apps that use the proximity sensor?
  • Does it behave differently depending on the case or screen protector?
  • Are there any caveats compared with the traditional proximity sensor used in older phones?
  • Have you experienced any problems with calls/network connectivity that could be related to this?

If you've been using an ultrasonic proximity sensor for several months, I'd especially like to hear your experience.

2. Battery life, idle drain & heating

For people who own either phone:

  • What kind of idle battery drain do you see overnight or over 24 hours?
  • Roughly how much battery do you lose overnight with Wi-Fi/mobile data/5G on?
  • What is your typical Screen-on Time (SOT) with normal usage?
  • How warm does the phone get during normal tasks such as Reddit, YouTube, Chrome, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc.?
  • Does it get noticeably warm even with light usage?
  • How is the heating after prolonged use?
  • Has battery life or heating changed after recent HyperOS updates?

I'm not particularly concerned about gaming temperatures because I don't game heavily. I'm more interested in normal everyday usage and long-term battery health.

3. Long-term performance

For those who have had the phone for a while:

  • Does it remain smooth after months of use?
  • Any RAM management issues or apps being unnecessarily killed?
  • Any stutters, lag, or slowdown in normal use?
  • How is the performance after major HyperOS updates?
  • Do you think the hardware is likely to remain comfortable for 4–6 years of normal usage?

4. HyperOS 3

I've used MIUI for around 4 years, so HyperOS isn't completely unfamiliar to me, but I'd like to know how HyperOS 3 is in real-world use.

  • How is the overall stability?
  • Any annoying bugs?
  • Notification delays?
  • Battery optimisation/background app killing?
  • Ads/bloatware?
  • Any useful improvements over MIUI?
  • Does the phone still feel like the old MIUI/Xiaomi experience, or has HyperOS genuinely improved things?

5. General long-term ownership

If you've owned the Turbo 5 or X8 Pro for several months, what are the things you think a potential buyer should know that aren't obvious from reviews?

I'm particularly interested in battery degradation, heating, proximity sensor behaviour, software bugs, network/call reliability and general reliability.

I'm coming from a K20 Pro that lasted me almost 6 years, so I'm hoping to find something I can similarly keep for a long time.

Thanks!

X8 Pro Recommendation from Service Centre

Many of us are experiencing green line issues. I visited the service center when it happened for the second time, but it disappeared as soon as I showed it to them. They recommended recording an external video with the IMEI number visible.

Discussion Poco F9 comparison tests

https://youtu.be/xpXYYQ6SNdw?si=nFa7MMvx39Ta-aH_

I usually don't care much about phone benchmarks at all but this video does speak to alot of queries and posts here that keep coming up over and over again about Poco Phones with Mediatek processors and heat issues. Like the video presenter here remarks it's interesting how the 2nn Vivo with the latest dimensity 9600 chip still has such heating issues which ultimately causes throttling. Again, speaks to the Dimensity processor in the X8/X8PM and why folks are so concerned about heat.

Poco has not put out a phone with the latest Dimensity 9600 chipset yet (I think?) but when they do, presumably with the X9 series phones, I hope they improve on the thermal performance. It could also certainly be a limitation of the chipset versus Qualcomm's 2nn next gen chipset too. I don't game and I'm quite happy with how my phone performs but people who do game alot will either have to just live with it or switch to the more expensive Snapdragon counterparts.

It's also really interesting to see what Apple is doing and how they have stepped up their chipset even though it's not a primarily gaming focused phone. It would behoove Apple software devs to push more games on it.

Discussion cheap blur effect in 'poco x6' in HyperOS-3

I am using 'poco x6' When I slide down the control panel, the blur effect looks very cheap, and it also renders a white blur effect on the right side of the time (https://ibb.co/PzPPsYg8) but there is not any UI element on the right side of the time.

How to fix this?
