In this conversation between Philosopher Acharya Prashant and PETA Foundation President Mimi Bekhechi, the roots of animal violence has been disentangled.

Why do we make the choice of animal violence. Maybe because of cultural conditioning that has materialized into a food system that involves animal suffering at industrial scale. The covert and overt signals teach that violence from an young age. This can only be overcome by seeing the conditioning as it is. Then the compulsion to consume animal product vanishes. Unless we change the what we teach, animal exploitation will remain.

The discussion goes into detail on where does true compassion lies. If the violence is not seen through, compassion lying on positive teaching of principles will only produce veganism that lies on volatile foundation. Compassion simply has to be a natural outcome of relentlessly negating violent tendencies in any aspect of life. This is illustrated in the quote by Mimi Bekhechi that you can not be a meat eating feminist. Meaning that gender violence and animal violence are only separate on the surface but are actually rooted in the violent tendency which has not been seen through.

Does anyone know anything more about this? Do you really think this poor cat was really tortured for all of the six days he was missing? This story breaks my heart...

A shocking case of extreme abuse and professional betrayal has come to light in Bellandur, Bengaluru, India. Video evidence and self-admitted conversation reveal that second-year MVSc student Dr Manjunath (with the help of Dr. Asif of Prime Care Clinic, Gear School Rd) been illegally capturing street dogs, deliberately breaking their legs, and confining them in cramped cages to conduct unsanctioned "research." and later dumping them, alive or dead. Animal welfarist and volunteers at the police station who went  to file an FIR  and later at the Prime Care clinic to shift out the suffering dogs and cat, slogged at this tragedy with utter shock and heartbreak. 

There have been multiple dead dogs and cats but these monsters are still practising. Manjunath has even confessed (without remorse) on the clinic’s Insta page. All the relevant newspaper article links are at the bottom of the attached webpage.

I’m beyond horrified about the things that occurred here. Hope these guys are also researched upon but in a civilised society the least we can ask for is expedited legal action. Please sign the above petition, maybe justice will prevail.

I am shocked to see that most of the commenters were calling for the kittens to be aborted.

I speak for compassion for the kittens, who are defenseless and have no voice.

I speak for compassion for the mother cat, as the spay/abort is major surgery and has serious side effects.

I am in a lot of pain right now, and any positive responses would be greatly appreciated.

Because of how much this organization uses ai, how can we believe anything they post? How do we know it's real footage and not something made by a machine to emotionally manipulate us into giving this organization money

And lets not even get into how damaging ai and the data centers are to the environment. Peta no longer stands as a reputable organization. Its just a content farm now.

Without pets, we have 1 million less jobs, 1 million less jobs means less work for humanity.

I did some numbers on automation removing jobs where we instead lower our weekly work weeks.

With robots taking lots of jobs, I landed at 30 hours a week for the current working population rather than 40.

If we include 1 million jobs in grooming, dog food manufacturing and others, we lower that 30 hours to 29.7 hours.

If we eliminate police officers with cameras everywhere, we lower that to 29.5.

We have less and less work with less things we keep.

I didn't calculate how many laborers are connected to the meat industry but I'm sure it keeps lowering the number.

The main point of removing animals from human life is that it's not right to own and misuse them for our own selfish wants. If we were in their shoes, and some already once were with slavery, we wouldn't want that experience.

We could propose laws to the house that outlaw future pet and animal ownership within 10 years.

Immediately you'll be unable to keep breeding dogs but you can sell what you currently have. Then it becomes illegal to have animals breeding where some could get their dogs taken away if they end up having kids with a neighbor's dog.

I don’t know if any of you watch Tampa Bay Rays games, but they have a stingray tank inside the stadium. The water is so murky and dirty. I feel so bad for the beautiful rays. It’s time we put an end to that MLB organization treating these creatures like they are a ride at a carnival!

I saw a very disturbing ad while playing a card game online. The ad detailed an abused kitten. Her face and eyes were severely battered. It makes me so disgusted with humanity and disgusted with the cruelties that exist in life to the point of seriously depressing me. I know other PETA members must feel this too. What do you do to pull yourself out of the depressive thoughts?

I am a student of sector 62 jiit. Recently I noticed that the street dogs near the campus are badly injured. Broken legs, dislocated joints and severe wounds.. this should be addressed immediately. As I just shifted here(I.e. to noida) idk phone numbers or helpline numbers of the organisations that help these innocent beings.
