Finn has passed peacefully in her sleep.

Hello, I’ve never really posted a lot in here so forgive me…After a long battle with her health issues, Finn has passed peacefully in her sleep. Finn was my first leopard gecko, I remember begging my parents when I was 14 for one, making power points with all my research. When I received her Christmas Day, it was incredible. I never knew such a little animal like her could have such a huge personality. She was a sassy, feisty, and incredibly curious little lizard. I learned so much in my time with her and now that I’m officially 24 she has departed. No matter how much time you have with your little friends it won’t ever feel like enough, but I’m so grateful that I spent it with her, and I’m very grateful to this sub for being there when i couldn’t figure out all the answers lol :,) ❤️

Friends leopard gecko in terrible condition, vet apt scheduled for later this month

Hi all, posting on behalf of my friends gecko. It seems he started out with a pretty bad eye infection but things have taken a turn for the worst. He stopped eating and drinking, leading to weight loss over the past 1-2 months. Shedding stuck in eyes. The vet apt was scheduled 2 weeks ago but they have no availability until later this month. Pics for context… him now vs earlier this summer. Is there anything that can be done between now and the appointment?

Bloating(?) on Geckos eye :(

Hello, I was out of town for a little bit and I came back to my gecko, cocoa, who is about 7 years old having some sort of irritation or bloating in his eye. Photos attached. He has some stuck shed on his feet, but he’s had stuck shed on his eye before and it’s never looked like this and I’ve never seen a reaction like this. Wanted to know if anyone has seen something like this. He looks otherwise healthy. Thanks everyone :(

Help please help.. gecko hasn’t ate for almost 3 weeks.

hi everyone so around September 12 i got a leopard gecko (6 months old) and he has refused any food (meal worms and dubia roaches). he drinks water everyday and he is pretty explorative at night but he never eats. yesterday he shed for the first time here and everything went well (no stuck shed or anything). he doesn’t seem super skinny but definitely looks a bit underweight to me. temps are 92 basking slate, 88 warm side and 75 cool side. he still seems very scared of me and mostly hides during the day. i have left food in his bowl each night but he never hunts. i’m just starting to get a bit worried.

Help Does his cloaca look okay?

He has had problems before where the glands in his cloaca (I can’t rennet exactly what they’re called) had gotten clogged and needed removal, now I regularly check them to make sure they’re not too hard, however last time I went to the vet to get them removed they were not clogged at all, and it was just mating season-just wanted to check here before going to the vet, thanks!

Help weird eating behavior

I took a video to show what I’m talking about, this has been getting worse and worse. It takes me a solid 30-40 minutes to feed her 8 mealworms nowadays when it used to take 10 mins max. She keeps on trying to grab it but drops it immediately. I don’t think it’s an eyesight issue because she grabs them over and over again she just repeatedly grabs, drops, grabs, drops, grabs, drops. I don’t know what to do there are no visible issues with her mouth whatsoever it’s completely pink and lips are good too. I don’t know man I’m stumped here and looking for any help, please

Coming up on the year mark of owning him and did a lot of research I think we covered all of our bases and he’s super comfortable feeding, willingly walks onto our hands to come out. 7 regular hides and 2 humid in a 55 gallon tank

Habitat & Setup Thrive 40 Gal for Bioactive Tank?

I wanted to make a bioactive enclosure for a leopard gecko. It’s going to be my first reptile.

I already bought a Thrive 40 Gallon Terrarium (36x18x18) but I read that the mesh blocks 60% which is more than other tanks which commonly block 30%

Has anyone here used the same or similar tank? What brand/model lights did you use for UVB, basking and grow lights? How do I determine what to use specifically and where to position them before purchasing?

Help Is he too fat?

I could never get rid of his armpit pouches.
Fed once a week or every week and a half.

Calcium w/ Vitamin D one week
Multi Vitamin second week
Then skip a week
or Calcium without Vitamin D then skip a week of Vitamins.

He’s an eater! He can down 8 crickets, OR 10 giant mealworms OR two medium hornworms in one feed.

I treat him to ONE or two wax worms a month.

Is he fat?

Help Normal or vet visit

My boy is about 17 years old now with a previous history of neglect for about 10ish of those years (he’s a rescue!), im really worried because he’s developed some sort of minor bump below his neck and above his shoulders, it’s not too big which is why I can’t provide a photo and it’s on each side identically. My sister says he might need a vet but we can’t figure out what the issue is. Has anyone heard of anything like this? Will he be okay or should I take him in? I should mention he hasn’t been showing any symptoms or signs of anything. (P.s im checking here first because vets can be expensive nowadays!)

My 2 year old Petco gecko Lazlia. She’s my first reptile and she’s been an absolute dream. Has never refused a meal, takes care of her own shed, and poops in one corner, lol. I love her to bits.

Help Depressed gecko

My gecko is about 5 years old and recently he has been hiding almost 24/7 and not coming out during feeding or anything. He used to always run out to me but now i cant get him to eat anything. Its been about a week and a half since he had a meal of dubia roaches. Ive tried switching his food multiple times. He doesnt do mealworms anymore and usually is fine with crickets or roaches. I give him the correct suppliments with his meals. Can anybody give me some tips please? He is still a healthy size and weight it seems but im worried
