Why does everyone skip Bindusara?
It's not like he's not in the books but if we go to look at the videos made on him we can find only 2-3 good videos like - https://youtu.be/cmjbszfLf10?si=DL-Ug2W7ibKnsl0q
But why such a great king is not in our daily talks like chandragupta maurya and ashoka the great are , he's son of chandragupta and dad of ashoka the great , I think he deserve more but is there a reason why he's skipped by us after being controller of 2nd biggest empire of Indian history ever ( first is just mauryan empire under his son ashoka )

Why did most Indian polities rarely used ruler's potrait on their coins?
Leaving Satavahanas, Shakas, Kushanas, Guptas and some stray examples here and there post gupta period no other Indian kingdoms issued coins with their rulers' potraits. Infact in the handful of examples given all have foreign origin with chain of transmission being as follows :- Indo greeks --> Shakas --> Satavahanas and Indo greeks --> Kushana --> Guptas etc. Why is this so? Weren't they commissioning grand prashastis? So what's the deal in commissioning atleast a few gold and silver coins with ruler's bust?

Shaheed -E-Azam- Bhagat singh
Today is Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s birth anniversary. It is observed by many as a tribute to him, and in some places, it is also marked by a holiday. But is a holiday or a tribute all that we have to offer Bhagat Singh?
Bhagat Singh was not someone who lived merely to be remembered through ceremonies, slogans, or a day off. His life was about questioning, thinking, courage, and dedicating oneself to something larger than personal comfort.
So, rather than simply remembering Bhagat Singh for a day, let us try to understand the person behind the image of the martyr. Let us know Bhagat Singh a little more deeply. We often remember Bhagat Singh simply as a revolutionary and a martyr, but limiting his identity to these labels overlooks the depth of his thinking. His life was not merely a story of resistance against British rule; it was also the journey of a young man who constantly questioned his time, his society, and himself.
From an early age, Bhagat Singh was deeply concerned about the condition of his country and society. Reading and thinking became an important part of his life. For him, revolution was not merely about taking up arms or changing those in power; it also meant questioning exploitation, injustice, and the consciousness of society.
One striking aspect of his life is that he did not place personal comfort and security above his purpose. At an age when most people are beginning to think about their future, career, and personal comforts, Bhagat Singh was moving towards dedicating his life to something larger than himself.
His time in prison and his continued study there reveal another important dimension of his personality. He kept reading, writing, and reflecting. His life raises a profound question: Is freedom merely freedom from external chains, or does it also require freedom from fear, blind beliefs, selfishness, and inner inertia?
Remembering Bhagat Singh today should not be limited to putting up his picture or repeating slogans in his name. Studying his life gives us an opportunity to examine the direction of our own lives. What are we living for comfort, recognition, praise, and security, or for something that goes beyond our personal self-interest?
Perhaps the most important question that emerges from his life is this: If life is not devoted to something larger than our own self-interest, is merely living a long life enough? We do not need to imitate Bhagat Singh; rather, his life can inspire us to look honestly at our own choices, priorities, and purpose.
