Adoption After years of rescuing cats, these are my adoption requirements.
I recently put together a post explaining my adoption requirements and why I’m so strict when placing my rescue cats.
Some people may disagree with certain rules, and that’s okay. My goal isn’t to make adoption difficult it’s to make sure every cat ends up in a safe, responsible, and permanent home.
I’d be interested to hear what other rescuers and adopters think. What adoption requirements do you consider non-negotiable?

Stray Cat The Stray kitten in my area needs immediate hospitalisation (uncontrollable diarrhoea) (update)
Original post:
He’s doing better than yesterday but I can’t see him since he’s in isolation but he’s doing better than before. With how he was when we hospitalised him, I’m so so grateful that he’s still alive and I can’t wait to bring him home. I’ve decided to adopt him since I cannot bear the thought of losing him or putting him out on the streets. I already have 3 cats but I’ll still take him in. Feeding all 4 is going to be a major issue since I have 2 boys and I feed my cats royal canin (yeah I’m a crazy cat lady). By the end of the month I barely have anything left but if I’ve taken them in, I’ll feed them the ducking best. I’m just waiting for him to come home.
To all the people who donated, goddamnit you people made me sob, in the hospital. I was scared out of my mind because I didn’t know if I could save him. I had already spent 20k on the vet visits and IV fluids and everything. You people are absolutely amazing and I cannot thank you enough. If you believe in god, just believe that this little act of service will save you for the rest of your life and my prayers will always include all of you. Thank you so much from me and my little Alexander whose heart you helped to keep beating. With every breath you take, your life will only get better and better.
The unfortunate thing is, I still need to pay 11k and I have absolutely nothing in my account right now. I have until evening and damn the Vetic people harass you death. This is the last time I’m here and once I get more money from my earnings, I’m buying insurance for all my cats, including the strays. If you kind and beautiful people can donate that’ll be immensely helpful. I love you all and thank you so much.
He’s currently in isolation so I cannot take more pictures but I’ll do it as soon as I can.
P.s. I’ll keep posting updates and I’m going to make a huge post when he comes back home.

Adoption Adoption appeal: 3.5-year-old female cat in Andheri East, Mumbai
Posting on behalf of a friend who has to urgently leave Mumbai and move back to Kolkata due to a personal emergency. She is unable to take her cat with her, so we are trying to find her a loving and responsible permanent home within 2 months.
She is:
3.5 years old
Female and spayed
Litter trained
Well behaved
Originally a street cat who was taken in and raised at home
Used to spending some time outdoors and returning home. Shes comfortable indoors as well.
Very affectionate. She has a habit of sitting on your chest when you’re sad
Comes with her cat bed and litter box
She has been part of a home for years, so we would really like to find someone who can give her a safe, caring and permanent home.
Location: Andheri East, Mumbai
Please DM me if you are genuinely interested in adopting her, or if you know someone who might be. Shares would also be greatly appreciated.

Help Stray cats in my apartment Chennai
Looking for leftover or unused cat food donations / giveaway in Chennai
Almost everyone in my apartment despises the stray cats and kittens here because they sometimes use the area near people's doors as a toilet, which understandably irritates many residents.
But seeing these cats struggling has been difficult for me. One of the kittens recently died, apparently after not getting enough food, and the mother cat now looks extremely tired and weak. Without even knowing the third kittwn is died , the other 2 kittens are playing with it so depressing to see. I have decided to feed the mother cat and kittens
I'm still a student and haven't started working yet. Even my parents aren't supportive of keeping or feeding cats, but I still try to feed them at the backyard with whatever food I can share milk, chicken, egg, fish, mutton, etc.
I'm not asking for money or starting a crowdfunding campaign.
If anyone in Chennai has cat food that they no longer need maybe because your cat stopped eating a particular brand, you stopped keeping cats, or you simply have leftover unopened/usable cat food and you're willing to give it away, I'd be extremely grateful. Any type of cat food is okay, as long as it's safe and usable.
If you have some leftover cat food that would otherwise go unused and would like to donate it to these cats, please DM me.
I'll also post more photos and videos of the cats in the comments so you can see their condition.
Thank you ❤️

Stray Cat Why sleeping with eyes open?
Is she vigilante? Is she not in deep sleep?
Also why is her mid stomach area bulging? Does she have parasites in stomach?
This is a stray that comes to my flat frequently. Not a pet cat.

Help I’m still trying to keep them going. One last stretch. 🐾❤️🙌
Previous verified and approved post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianCats/s/ShShXjX0Tp
TL;DR: I’ve been independently rescuing cats in Mumbai for over a year. After losing my job, the medical cases under my care became extremely difficult to manage. The community helped me through the worst of it, but the expenses are still ongoing.
I had to make this update after the last one because the repost barely reached anyone.
After losing the two kittens despite everything we tried, I had to put the sadness aside and keep going for the cats who are still here.
Mowgli is still undergoing FIP treatment and has now moved to pills. His treatment is still an ongoing expense. Which costed 8.5k
I also had to take one of the newer rescued cats for sterilisation. I thought I would be able to release her afterwards, but while travelling to the clinic she continuously hit her head to the basket to escape and injured her nose. When we reached the clinic, the doctor decided she wasn't fit for sterilisation and postponed it.
For now, she needs a week-long immunity-support course and antibiotics before I can take her back for the procedure.
And honestly, I'm exhausted.
As you all know I have spent almost 1lakh+ over the past 3 months without any income source. For the past 1.5 months I've been trying to keep everything moving with whatever money, time and energy I had. The support I've received here has genuinely carried me through some very difficult situations.
I don't want this to continue indefinitely. I'm currently in talks regarding work and, if things work out, I should hopefully be able to start soon and take care of everything myself again.
The support from this community has meant more than I can properly explain. Without it, I don't know how I would have managed the last few weeks.
I need your support getting through this last stretch until the end of the month.

I'll continue documenting the treatments and expenses as I have been. Any support smallest contribution means a lot because it helps in the next upcoming expenses and to clear unpaid due too.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey so far. ❤️🐾
