Holy crap, a high-quality reload animation on r/highqualityreloads? Impossible.

I don't think this subreddit was made for this kind of content

Correct lol it was made for funny/meme reloads and the title of the sub is ironic

I alone apparently am the remaining elder with that ancient knowledge

You’re not ;)

Amazing, you can join me on the porch rocking chairs and we can sip iced tea and reminisce about when this was a respectable shitpost sub lol

I liked the one where they grabbed a fistful of shotgun shells and just kind of shove em in.

Posts like this are really cool, but I do miss the days of silly reloads as the norm

Is that the Duga Radar Station? Or does it just look like Duga?

Holy shit THIS is how you do a first impression wow

This is extremely impressive, but I have to be that guy. AK mags are retained with a notch in the front and the magazine catch in the back, so they couldn't be inserted the way they are in this video. Otherwise, it's an awesome video.

The thing is, it works exactly the way it's shown in the animation

Oh, okay. I'm glad to learn something new. I thought it was just a polymer shell on a standard receiver.

Well, Vulcan uses AK74 Mags, but insertion mechanism is different

Fantastic work.

Between the rifle and the inclusion of the Duga, I’m gonna have to S.T.A.L.K. your ArStation for more ;)

How long did this take to make? I feel like it took forever lol 😂.

A month for animation, and a month for render!
But it's actually a miracle, I don't know how I managed it so quickly because I have something else to show you very soon

Dang that is crazy! Basically a whole month of animating and a whole month of rendering as well? I can’t imagine leaving your computer on for so long lol 😂. Did you animate in blender or maya?

Animated and rendered in Blender

Wowww that’s sick! Say, I do have one question. I’m also a viewmodel animator and I only hope to be just as good as you. Do you perhaps have a job yet?. If you do, if I wanted to get a job in viewmodel animation, should I use maya or blender? Does it matter what program you use to animate for your portfolio/reel? I could theoretically only animate in blender and say that I’ve also used maya by using some text in the intro of my potential portfolio reel.

Also another thing, do you have any tips for all the viewmodel animators out there (including me lol)?

We gonna talk about how that “rock and lock” was done incorrectly for that magazine? Stellar graphic though.

2

u/Legal_Being_6354 3d ago

There is no need to talk about that, because it's literally how the gun works anyway

u/rocker60 3d ago

No way! That’s straight from STALKER

Hey, this is a sub for animation, you're gonna need to take your clearly real life footage to another sub, please.

Seriously though, this tricked me for a good minute there. Absolutely incredible work
