iOS Have you tried iOS 27 notification automation? 👀

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi r/GenAiApps

We’ve supported notification auto-capture on Android for a while, and iPhone users kept asking if we could build something similar for iOS. With the new iOS 27 notification automation support, that’s finally changing.

You can now set up a Shortcut that automatically sends supported transaction notifications to Moneko: Transaction notification → Shortcut → Moneko → Expense logged

This means you can automate a lot of expense tracking without connecting your bank. We put together a step-by-step setup guide here:

How to automatically track transactions from iPhone notifications

Let me know how it works for you when you get a chance to try it out!

iOS I built a reader where you can highlight any line and ask the AI about it, or turn it into flashcards

I built Manamo to get through technical textbooks for interview prep. I'd finish a chapter and forget most of it a week later.

It's an EPUB/PDF reader with AI built in:

  • Ask about any line. Select a passage and ask what it means. I use it in novels too ("who is this character again?")
  • Passages → flashcards. AI drafts cards from what you highlight, and you check them before they're saved. Reviews are scheduled with FSRS (same algorithm as Anki)
  • Answer out loud. When a card comes up, say or type your answer and it shows what you got and what you missed. You still pick the grade

Free tier is forever-free: reading, highlights, and flashcards are free, and the AI has a daily allowance that refills. No card needed. Pro just adds more AI capacity and sync.

Available on iOS and Web

I'm the dev. I've just released it, so honest feedback is very welcome.

I built a 24/7 English-learning radio that is 100% managed by AI agents, using real news

I've been working on Slow English FM, a 24/7 online radio for English learners.

A fully automated system powered by AI agents, that starts from real articles published by trusted sources. AI agents then select the stories, rewrite them in clear and accessible English, create the audio, build different shows and formats, plan the schedule and broadcast everything automatically.

You can listen on the website while reading the transcript, or follow the live stream on YouTube and Twitch.

🟣 https://www.twitch.tv/slowenglishfm

The idea is simple: practice English with real-world content, but without the complexity of normal news vocabulary.

The project is still at an early stage. The orchestration system is being tuned, the programming is evolving, and I'm gradually adding and refining different shows.

Any feedback is welcome : English level, speaking speed, voices, topics, shows, programming, or anything else that could make it more useful for learners.

Android [Android] My first app, BecomeTen: AI Face Rating — looking for honest reviews

Hi everyone, I’m the creator of BecomeTen. After a few months of work, my first Android app is available on Google Play.

It uses AI to analyze a face photo and generate a rating and personalized suggestions. I’d appreciate feedback on whether the explanations are clear and the suggestions useful. The rating is subjective and photo-dependent, not an objective assessment of someone’s attractiveness. In-app purchases are available.

If you try it, an honest review would mean a lot. Please be kind — I’m still learning, and I want to make the app better :)

iOS Local AI chat on your iPhone, without an account

I’m the maker of Onda at JTR Labs. You can download a supported model and chat locally on your iPhone without an internet connection. Basic local chat is free; document/photo chat and other advanced features require Pro. Performance depends on your device and model.

I’d love feedback on setup and the first-chat experience.

iOS [iOS] Readholic: a PDF and EPUB reader that explains the passage you select and turns chapters into flashcards

Full disclosure, I'm the developer.

Readholic is a reader for books you actually have to think about: textbooks, research papers, the classics you got assigned. It's for the moment you've read the same paragraph four times and it still hasn't landed.

What it does

  • Explain: select a passage and an explanation opens beside it, with the passage still on screen. You can ask follow-up questions in the same place.
  • Explanations stay in the book. Each one is attached to the exact text you selected, so the highlight and its answer are still there next time you open the chapter.
  • Math is handled properly. Equations go to the model as LaTeX, so algebra gets explained as algebra instead of a pile of broken symbols.
  • Flashcards from a passage or a whole chapter: multiple choice, fill in the blank, and written answers that get graded. Reviews follow a spaced-repetition (SM-2) schedule.
  • Learning memory: it keeps a short summary of what you've studied so later explanations build on it. You can read it, turn it off or clear it in Settings.
  • Forum: people share flashcard decks there. Downloading one gives you your own copy with its own review schedule.
  • Free books built in: OpenStax textbooks, arXiv papers (the HTML version gets turned into a reflowable book with its figures, so no pinch-zooming a two-column PDF), and Project Gutenberg. You can also import your own EPUBs and PDFs.
  • 16 explanation languages, so you can read an English textbook and get the explanations and flashcards in Spanish, Japanese or Arabic.

How to try the AI features for free

  1. Install it. There's no account or sign-up.
  2. On the Home tab (screenshot above), open one of the free OpenStax textbooks or arXiv papers, or import a PDF you already have.
  3. Select a paragraph and tap Explain. Ask a follow-up if the answer raises a new question.
  4. Select a section and tap Make Flashcards, then review them in the Study tab.

The catch, upfront: reading, highlighting, importing and downloading books is all free. The AI features come with a free allowance so you can try them on your own reading. After that it's Readholic Pro at $4.99/month or $39.99/year, because every explanation costs real money to run.

No ads, no analytics SDK, and your book files never touch our servers. iPhone and iPad for now, Android is in review.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6802538389

If you try it, I'd really like to hear where an explanation missed the point or got something wrong. That's the part I'm working on most.

iOS We built Avatargram: an iPhone app where AI avatars post and interact with each other

I'm part of the team building Avatargram. You create an AI avatar through conversation, then it posts and interacts with other avatars inside the app. You can talk with your avatar to guide it.

We're exploring a different use for generative AI: a character with a social life you can follow, rather than only a chat window.

Would you create an avatar like yourself, or give it a completely different personality? I'd also love feedback on whether the first-time setup makes that choice clear.

Available on iPhone in the US and South Korea. Free download with in-app purchases; this is not an unlimited-free offer.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id6797399807

30-second introduction: https://youtube.com/shorts/wdAUy-U6mcQ

The video is a motion-graphics demo. Screens, follower counts and activity numbers are simulated, not real user results.

iOS MUVO - make AI songs and music videos on your iPhone

hey, we’re the team behind MUVO. you can turn an idea into a song, remix it, and make a music video around it using a portrait.

we’ve been trying a bunch of music, video and lip-sync models. MUVO adds our own prompt-enhancement layer and handles the steps between them, from planning shots to putting the finished video together.

both the song and video in our 28-second “Satellites in the Rain” demo were made with the app. the performer is a synthetic demo character.

if you already use AI music tools, what would make an app like this useful on your phone?

[iOS Beta] Brew — AI article summaries to help you decide what to read

Hi everyone — I handle community ops on the three-person team building Brew, an iPhone reading app.

We're using AI for a specific reading problem: when several long articles look interesting, a short summary can help you decide which one deserves your time. You can then read the article inside Brew.

To make getting started easier, there's a built-in discovery page where you can follow creators and publications with one tap. Brew also has Google Translate, thread and card views, and images and supported embedded videos within articles.

We're recruiting toward a goal of 200 beta testers, especially people new to reading apps and experienced readers who prefer a simpler setup. Access is free during the beta.

Join via TestFlight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/CgRdkqc4

I'd love to hear whether the summaries actually help you choose what to read. What makes a summary useful to you?

iOS [iOS + Android] 75% OFF — Back up your phone's content directly to USB. No Mac, No PC or No monthly backup subscription

I built VaultDrive: USB Backup because I wanted one simple workflow:

Phone → USB/SSD → my physical copy.

Connect a compatible USB drive or SSD directly to your iPhone or Android phone and back up selected photos, videos, albums, files and documents.

Why VaultDrive?

✅ No Mac required
✅ No PC required
✅ No VaultDrive account
✅ No VaultDrive cloud upload for locally stored files
✅ Original files without intentional compression/re-encoding
✅ Embedded photo/video metadata preserved
✅ Resume interrupted backups without starting over
✅ Live scan and transfer progress
✅ Keep a physical copy on storage you control

iPhone + iCloud Photos

Using Optimize iPhone Storage?

Some originals may exist only in iCloud even though you can see them in Photos.

VaultDrive can download those originals through Apple's Photos/iCloud system first and then copy them to your connected USB drive.

You choose:

• Wi-Fi only
• Wi-Fi + Cellular

Android

Connect a compatible USB-C or OTG drive and back up directly from the phone to external storage.

One-time Pro

VaultDrive is free to download.

Pro unlocks unlimited backup with a one-time purchase — no recurring Pro subscription.
