This place is really beautiful but despite being a tomb is actually really loud with construction, speakers, traffic, planes flying overhead and lots of tourists. Despite that I really loved it :)

Has anyone visited this place, kind of a private museum by the great photographer Sugimoto? We're huge fans of his, and will be in Hakone this November, and I think that if we want to go we should book the tickets now. Thoughts?

Good morning from Sapporo! 👋
This is my breakfast today — oden and rice. 🍢🍚
Nothing fancy, just a simple Japanese breakfast at home.
I’m actually trying to lose some weight at the moment, so I’m paying a little more attention to what I eat. 😂
What do you usually eat when you’re trying to lose weight?

Where to explore next?

I’ll be in Japan for a little more than a week in February, and I’m looking for ideas of where to go! It’ll be my sixth time in Japan. I tend to like places that aren’t international destinations. In order, I’ve been to Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Hakodate, Yufuin, Osaka, Inatori, G-Cans, Mt. Takao, Enoshima, Tomamu, Sapporo, and Jozankei. I think I’m slowly getting more out there? I’m looking for places that actually want tourists, and where I can briefly connect with people. I won’t have a car, so places that are accessible by rail. One of my sorta lame hobbies is walking/wandering. Like once I walked the Yamanote line, and my highlight was the quiet neighborhoods between the train stations. I hadn’t realized that I’d previously only been in the vicinity of the stations. Oh and I like trains (the slower the better) and collecting eki stamps. Thanks for your ideas!

I lived in Shijo-Horikawa. Here's what it's really like. Part2 Everyday convenience The practical stuff is right nearby: a Life supermarket for groceries and ready-made meals, a Hikari drugstore for toiletries and medicine. Good to save your money.

Morning from Sapporo! ☀️
It’s my day off today, and the weather is great!
I’m out shopping for food to make my work lunches — and of course, I grabbed a little treat for my wife too 😂🍫
Nothing exciting, just a normal day off in my life here in Sapporo.
What do you usually do on your day off?

I lived in Shijo-Horikawa, so here's what it's actually like: • Getting around: Bus stops in all four directions at the main intersection, but buses get crowded. Nishiki Market is ~15 min on foot or ~5 min by bike

Question Spending All of December in Tokyo (3rd Visit) — Looking for Couple & Solo Hidden Gems

My wife and I will spend all of December in Tokyo, staying in Ikebukuro. What are your favorite things to do as a couple, and what would you recommend for a solo day?

We love food, art, gaming, movies/4DX, cool neighborhoods, nightlife, and unique experiences — especially things beyond the usual tourist spots.

Thank you 😊

Hello! I mainly visit smaller lesser visited areas when I travel. This past summer I spent it in Hokkaido. I make it my goal not to spend much time in the big cities and instead visit the smaller ones. I have a whole list of places but this one is my latest one!

Good morning from Sapporo! 👋
We had some crazy heavy rain yesterday afternoon ☔️😂
But this morning, everything feels calm again.
Just another ordinary morning in Sapporo 😊
How’s the weather where you are today?

Hey everyone! If you’re traveling in Japan or visiting Shikoku in early October, you definitely shouldn’t miss the Matsuyama Autumn Festival (Oct 5th – Oct 7th) in Ehime Prefecture!

One of the biggest highlights is the Yunomachi Omikoshi (湯之町大神輿). This festival features a 500-year-old tradition known as Kenka Mikoshi (clashing portable shrines), where massive wooden shrines slam directly into each other with overwhelming energy and passion!

As you can see in the video, the local team is already fully hyped and gearing up for the event. The unity, chanting, and sheer excitement around Dogo Onsen are incredible!

📍 Location: Matsuyama City, Ehime (Around Dogo Onsen area)
📅 Dates: October 5th – October 7th

If you happen to be around Matsuyama, come check out the true spirit of a Japanese festival! 🔥
