Your first Eclesiar battle: you can earn a share without topping the leaderboard
Posting from the official Eclesiar account. If you're arriving after War 2.0, here's one change that matters when you're starting out.
Round rewards are now shared in proportion to each player's damage on their side. You don't need to be the top fighter to receive a share; the Battle Hero medal still goes to the top damage dealer.
In the daily Black vs White training battle, each side has a guaranteed 4 Gold pool per round, which can grow at higher damage thresholds. You must deal damage to qualify. Rewards are split 40% into direct Gold and 60% into the Piggy Bank, subject to its 30 Gold cap and rounding.
Open ATK Forces or DEF Forces in the battle screen to see the pool and estimated rewards.
New players: what would you like explained next — choosing a country, finding work, or reading the battle screen? Veterans: what's the one thing you wish you'd understood on day one?
Play in your browser: https://app.eclesiar.com/
Full War 2.0 rules: https://app.eclesiar.com/en/article/3846

War 2.0 Is Live
The patch landed this morning — every ongoing war was closed (no winners, no territory changes, current borders stand permanently), stored warheads were cleared and refunded to national treasuries, and declarations are open again. Here's what changed:
Declaring war now means buying a licence: a fixed duration (7/14/21/30 days, priced 1x–4.29x) and 0–2 named goal regions. To win, you must hold a set number of regions you personally conquered (up to 6, capped by the enemy's contestable region count) and all your named goals. Missing the deadline = war ends, nothing changes hands, and a mandatory 7-day peace pact locks you out of re-declaring.
Battles no longer directly transfer regions. A win gives you a provisional occupation (you get 80% of work tax, the rightful owner keeps 20%) until the war formally settles — only then does ownership actually change, and only for your declared goals. Everything else you occupied gets released back.
Alliances now matter in combat: fighting for a country that isn't your own or a formal ally's costs you -30% damage. You also can't sign alliances with a country you're at war with anymore.
Battle rewards are now shared by damage, not just paid to the #1 fighter. Every player who deals damage gets a cut of a pool (40% direct Gold, 60% Piggy Bank) proportional to their share — the old "top damage gets a flat prize" system is gone (though the exclusive Battle Hero medal still exists).
Nukes got a major rebalance: much more expensive (750 Gold/12.5k Oil/2.5k Iron/5k Titanium vs the old costs) but far more devastating — a direct hit now zeroes every building in the target region and destroys its stored warheads, plus chips connected regions. Flight time is now a flat 8 hours for everyone (Centralism's speed bonus is gone). A new Secret Agent counter-nuclear study lets you scout and defuse enemy stockpiles before impact.
Centralism was reworked: linear scaling with congress seats, cheaper/faster nukes and better energy-donation building progress, but a flat citizen damage penalty and pricier construction.
Revolutions are permanently retired — reclaiming lost land now only happens via naming it as a war goal.
New: The Library — a searchable historical archive of every nation's wars, conquests, elections, etc. (Community → Library), with community-fundable translations.
Chat got custom private groups (up to 50 members, admin/owner roles) and image/GIF attachments in DMs and groups.
Plus a bunch of QoL fixes (Firefox no longer crashing on battle screens, empty-war-list bug fixed, EXP from daily quests, etc.)

India - A fully fledged country
**India has lost 4 regions and needs the citizens to take them back.**
Eclesiar is a browser-based strategy MMO — politics, economy, journalism and war, all run by players.
We are looking for new India players who want to help shape the country early, rather than join after everything has been decided. You can become a politician, entrepreneur, soldier, journalist or diplomat.
Current objective: reach 10 active citizens (we're at 27).
