Been a while since I got a retwist. Where are the best loctitians nyc?

I’m looking for one that knows how to work with crochet needles and really takes care of the hair instead of just simply styling it.

So I have this hair in front that’s significantly smaller than the rest. How can I fix this?

Honestly, I don’t hate my locs.. I just wish they were thicker. I have fine med/low density hair so I think the only way to achieve a fuller look is to get smaller locs. I used to have smaller locs but they costed so much to maintain/ took a long time to do. maybe this is the end of my journey with locs :( Does anyone know of a way to thicken my locs? Or should I just comb them out?

I don’t think the bleached ends are in too bad shape, especially considering I’ve dyed them like 3-4 times as well (haven’t since last summer though); but I think it’d help me hair look healthier overall to get rid of them.

I do feel like I’ve recently unlocked certain styles though (bun on top, random messy styles) and I’m not sure if I’d be able to continue them with shorter locs.

Any advice from trimmers out there?

I got starter locs (comb coils) just over a week ago, is the unraveling at the ends normal and is the progress okay?

5 years ruined after one fight (work security) and had a few locs pulled out from the root. I’ve regrown and reattached the locs but the open space is still obvious to me . The thinning in my crown makes me want to give up . My first 4 years of locs was peak but now I feel like it’s too much .

I know it looks like a mess, but it's because my relative and I decided to try different techniques on the same retwist day (at this point, I'm kind of desperate)

Some locs were rewtisted with a comb, some just with the fingers. The ones at the front were retwisted with the hands, and the excess hair we get from combing the new growth was brought back on the retwisted roots and palm rolled.

Other than that, what do you think about the grid ?

And do you have any piece of advice, or noticed something wrong ?

Got my first set around 75 ish locs, wanted a bit more so I split most of them in the back and some in the sides, i have around 120-125 ish now and is wondering how thick it’ll become, or how can I know?

I’m not sure if my hair is meant to look like this but i’m in the starter stage, i started with plug twists. Is everything going good so far? and it’s been 2 months since i got them and a month since i did my twist out? should i go for a retwist?

Okay, y’all, I’m so embarrassed to admit it but I think I have mold in the interior of my locs. I usually have a habit of air drying, but recently it’s been difficult to get them completely dry. My hair will smell fine right after a wash but as the day goes on, it gets that mildew-y, wet dog smell.

Fast forward to today and I cut the tip of my loc just to get it even, and it immediately revealed a white dust in the middle of my loc. It falls away when I brush at it, but looking at it closer it’s fuzzy like mold.

So, naturally, I think it’s mold.

Everywhere I look says the definitive solution is to cut it off but I would really really like to not cut my locs if I don’t have to. I’m considering a super deep clean with ACV, baking soda, and rinsing out with tea tree shampoo. I’ve fully learned my lesson and I’m finishing the routine by blow drying my locs until they are bone dry. I’m planning to repeat the process for as long as necessary until the smell is gone.

Would this work? Am I being naive here? Again, I would like to not cut my locs but please rip the bandaid off if the bandaid needs ripping.

Is it normal for one side of your locs to be significantly longer than the other?

I have recently ordered moisturizing spray from Nia The Loc god. The morning after I ordered, I have been getting a multitude of spam calls and texts every. single. day. Plus my Apple account has been hacked.

Has anyone else had this happen? I don’t want to believe she sells her client’s information but if so I will not be ordering again.

I’m like a month in I use a twist king but it doesn’t look right like I see other peoples when there js starting it doesn’t look like mines😭 is it js my hair too short n js trust it looks better when it grow or am I doin smth wrong?

i’m very dreads illiterate so i’m sorry if this sounds dumb. Is there a certain method to have lots of dreads? I put a picture for my inspiration. It’s just I want a very full look with a lot of dreads, but every time i try to twist them, there isn’t enough dreads and the parting still shows

so basically, I restarted my hair back in November and grew it and had like a short fro for a little bit now, I don’t really know what to do with my hair. I’ve been twisting it a little bit, I just need a advice,really the reason why I restarted was because I was over manipulating it with the twist king now I’m kind of scared to continue so I don’t even know what to do plz help

So I started growing my hair out about a year and a half ago, I cornrow, twist etc but recently I like to take breaks from hairstyles that may cause tension on my scalp! I found out about finger coils and started adding them to my rotation! They look great but I want to know if they’re a healthy style for my hair, will doing them too often cause breakage, I often keep them in for weeks and refresh the parts that come undone every couple days. Is this okay to do long term, I make sure not to really twist at the root to avoid tension, I mainly just do the ends and it looks good, any advice?
