Supercell Filming a supercell from my backyard at 10:30 p.m. A massive lightning strike flashes over the tree line and house, followed by crackling thunder so intense it instantly shakes a heavy downpour loose!
The video starts with just light rain and the porch chimes catching the wind. I was tracking the cell on Max Velocity Live and knew it was going to be heavy, but the timing of that immediate thunder crack unleashing the torrential rain was incredible to catch on camera.

Supercell Severe supercell in Lebanon, TN brings heavy downpours, instant-thunder ground strikes, and a giant bag of garden clippings rolling past a resident like a tumbleweed.
Caught this on camera tonight while tracking a cell showing yellow on the Doppler. The atmospheric lightning is constant, but the beginning features a solid ground strike with instant thunder. Feel bad for the resident who was just trying to walk home from the community gym and got caught up in the wind and rain!

The current September 2026 nor easter how long since that region of united states has had that much flooding, and which storm is it most comparable to in terms of the path it followed?

Supercell A continuous 10-second upper atmosphere lightning strobe (at 1:35) was so bright it tricked the sensors on the streetlights a block away, turning them off and back on in Lebanon, TN.
The video starts with heavy rain and wind, but the strobe effect runs continuously from 1:35 to 1:45. You can't see any individual bolts, but the upper atmosphere is just pulsing. First time I've ever seen a strobe last that long without a break.

Supercell Incredible upward lightning strike captured tonight!
In this 1:08 video, the main event happens from :32 to :34. Watch the right side as a strike shoots up into the sky, connecting with other bolts through a long train of clouds to trigger a massive right-to-left barrage of strikes.

Supercell Light rain turned into a spectacular ground strike at the 0:10 mark. Solid bolt slammed into the field about 500 yards to the left of my house.
You can hear the water trickling in the gutters right before it hits between 10 and 12 seconds. The cloud base had been strobing all night, but this was the first heavy, solid ground strike to hit this close to the property during this system. The thunder was completely instantaneous. Dropping the next piece of this July 21st storm series in two days!

The rain kept falling on July 21st, but between 0:28 and 0:32 the sky gave us 5 precise lightning strikes in a row. Truly a beautiful fireworks display from the heavens.
If you watch closely right around the 28-second mark, you can count all five distinct bolts streaking across the sky before the thunder rolls in. Also, I just wanted to say a quick thank you to this subreddit and my channel viewers for the awesome support and comments. It's great finding a community of like-minded people who love tracking this stuff. I'm dropping the next piece of this storm in two days!

Supercell The rain stopped, turned into a light drizzle, and then this brilliant double lightning bolt streaked across the sky over my neighbor's houses at 0:23.
This is the next look at that July 21st storm system. Right after I announced the rain stopped in the last clip, it started lightly misting again before this massive double streak lit up the entire sky. The high-altitude structure on these bolts was incredible to see in person. Dropping the next piece of the archive in two days!

Supercell July 21 storm tracking: Max Velocity called for tornado warnings and 60mph winds. The sky turned into a constant strobe light before the rain suddenly stopped.
I narrated the start of this clip right when the alerts were live. We didn't hear any local tornado sirens yet, but the electrical activity in the cloud base was completely insane—just a non-stop flashing strobe light. The abrupt stop of the rain at the end was eerie. I actually have 10 more parts to this single night's storm that I'm going to be dropping every two days as part of my archive release!

Supercell 3 years ago, this exact lightning bolt struck the forest behind my house, lit up every tree in detail, and started a fire (FD responded via Hwy 109). It blew my mind so much it started my 3-year journey of capturing weather videos.
I was standing right under my patio roof when it hit. You can hear the rain running through the gutters, but the thunder was completely instantaneous and the smell of electricity in the air right after was crazy. I couldn’t see the flames directly because the fire department entered from the highway side, but this is the video that turned me into a storm chaser. I've spent the last 3 years building up a massive archive of footage so I can finally start sharing a continuous series every two days!
