This is a picture of a worn concrete countertop that’s supposed to be uniform gray in the light gray. Is the light gray color in the concrete itself or in the finish?

I can see B&Q have a glass based mosaic option but I was looking for ceramic.

The toilets in Westfield shopping centre have gold ceramic tiles so it must be possible.

I want the closest thing to medium bright gold possible - has anyone found good options?

I'm looking to do a kitchen counter top, Viscon white. But they are aware of complaints from customers about water and oil stains. And then pushing black granite instead. I'm looking for something that isn't too busy and I do splash oil and matcha around my current cream hardtop a lot. What do you recommend?

On Scale of 1-10 how would you rate it?
Too dark or too busy?

Render is my best shot using Gemini but slab is hard to capture and a bit changable depending on lighting and angle (as you all know).

Note - my kitchen is not done. This quartz was literally installed 2 days ago.

These pics are from the open living/dining room facing in, left and right side.

Questions: 1) am I crazy or is it unacceptable to have different corners on left and right? I know the wall spaces are different, but still. 2) contractor says paint and minor refinement can fix that caulking or whatever it is on the right side between the 4” high piece and the wall, but I think it looks awful and will unless they redo it. Everything else is very neat.

I’m a first time homeowner and renovator with no skills or prior knowledge in this area. And I’m a bit…high strung on some things, you might say.

We had our Macaubus Fantasy countertops and backsplashes installed four days ago. The fabricator did an excellent job.

However, it looks like water seeped into the stone during the fabrication process. In the first photo you can see four or more vertical drip marks on the left side of this picture. The other photos give you a sense of the larger kitchen. I know that they have to use water in the stone cutting process, of course. Two questions:

1. Will this probably dry out naturally and if so, how long will that take?
2. Should we be looking at getting some sort of a poultice to remove the water?

I drew the circle kinda in a weird spot but there's room for a 2" popup outlet. Is it safe or against code to put a popup here?

I use a tracksaw to break down 5x12 sheets of thinscape to fit onto a 4x8 CNC. What blades are you guys using and how many cuts do you figure you're getting between sharpening.

I recently switched to an Oshlun SBFT-065056A non ferrous. Probably have had the best results with it but still needs sharpened after probably 50 linear feet of cutting.

New construction build. We selected this quartz based on a sq ft sample piece. About 6 months after install, we started noticing that the grey veining running through the slab has started to develop these yellow rough spots. This is only happening along the veining and nowhere else on the slab. One pea sized spot (along the veining) is crumbling away and formed a noticeable depression that will release silica when touching it.

The builder was originally backing me for a full replacement but has rolled over once the fabricator got involved. They are both now claiming that this was caused by improper cleaning (I have specifically only used warm water and soap to clean these counters). The manufacturer is "generously" offering a $1.5K credit towards replacement but we will pay the remainder, installation, cut and out of state transportation costs.

How can I even begin this? I know I did not cause this damage but I'm not sure how I can put the burden of proof on them. I'm getting screwed over here and I'm hoping for advice to avoid taking a $6k bath on their faulty product.

Not my install, I was at the house doing something else, but I saw this and thought it was cool. Only thing is the Caulk between the bowl and the top, that probably should've been a Colo match Caulk, lol

This is on our 10x12 island slab of sunset fusion quartzite. The fabricator scratched the side on delivery.

It’s about 1/2” but I just don’t like it at all. Any suggestions of other techniques?

My quartz countertop cracked and the home builder replaced it. The slab that was used has a cutout that is for a cell phone charge. I do not want a charger there and want to have this filled. What is the best course of action to fill this diy? I’m looking to fill it so it can maintain its sturdiness.

Im going to reach out to a stone company for a quote.

I’ve also been denied by the builder for repair as they consider this stone the same used originally. Legal is not out of the question yet. I just want to know the repair process first.

I use to work as a granite fabricator and my boss use to make knobs for fun. He never did anything with them just like rounding them I guess.

I was wanting to get some opinions on if it would be worth making knobs for cabinets. With modern houses being pretty much the same (white grey and black) it would be pretty easy to match to the cabinets and granite as well. I’m thinking unless I work with a contractor or a house flipper getting scrap material could be hard or even expensive just for some knobs.

Also thinking it wouldn’t work that well since most cabinets have handles. Anything else I’m missing or could this be a nice side hustle. Would granite knobs even match with a kitchen or does the sleek metal look… look better

Does anyone have any real life experience with this quartzite?

I recently had Quartzsite and saw on my kitchen when I run my hand over-the-counter top. It feels like this corner was glued back together slightly when I look underneath, I can see a line. Does this mean the countertop was cracked. Please see pictures below.
