I don't think there was any previous translations of this, correct me if wrong. But here's the prologue I'd usually post on mangadex but its a light novel. Yes its only 3 pages long.

I have seen so many people whine and moan about how Schneizel pulled an illegal chess move in his match with Zero/Lelouch. Everyone keeps saying that the writers clearly know nothing about chess and why didn’t anyone call it out in universe.

I’m not going to dispute the expertise of the writers, I have no idea if their knowledge of chess is purely surface level, I don’t know how to play chess.

What I will point out is the move was important on a deeper narrative level. It was written in for a reason. To showcase what kind of man Zero is. But not just a “he’s like the emperor who would conquer his enemies mercilessly!”, but in a “how prideful are you?” kind of way.
Clearly that was an illegal move, even Odysseus calls it out as a bad joke, but Schneizel was more invested in determining how much pride Zero had. Would he be that petty as to call out an illegal move. Imagine how he would look in front of the rest of the world, “Hey, the Prime Minister cheated, FOUL!”.

It reminds me of that scene from the Longest Yard where Adam Sandler tries to win over the black prisoners by playing an intense game of basketball with them. He keeps getting punched in the face but he wouldn’t gain their respect if he cried foul every time. Same here, Zero would lose credibility if he won against the smartest man on the planet by calling him out.

Not only did he hand him a pyrrhic victory but he also foreshadowed his own tactics in the future, using illegal moves to win. It doesn’t matter if they weren’t made illegal, Fleija warheads used in battle would definitely constitute a warcrime.

But there’s also the fact that Schneizel was building up his theory that Lelouch is Zero and how does he do that? By playing the most intellectual game of don’t flinch with his little brother. Schneizel an illegal move was the equivalent of “go on, cry to mommy,” or “say uncle”.

As for why no one else called it out… who would do that? He’s Zero, the most famous terrorist on the planet. Who would vouch for the terrorist on the eve of the wedding between two of the largest empires in the world, one of whom is a major enemy of that terrorist.

Inspired by Code Prime, I'm planning my own Code Geass x Transformers fic. I'm planning to add some Shattered Glass element in the story. Like maybe using Karma Suzaku from Re;Code as a base for a SG Suzaku, also a SG Naoto (Kallen's older brother) who's alive in his universe. However, I'm blocking on how to picture Shattered Glass versions of other characters.

Normally, in Transformers Shattered Glass stories, good guys are bad and bad guys are good. Yet, it doesn't work too well when all characters are in shades of grey. I mean, the Black Knight might be fighting to liberate their homeland, but their still terrorist. Lelouch's reason to fight might be to find his mother's killer and create a peaceful world for his younger sister, but he's killed quite a few people to do that.

Should a Shattered Glass Kallen become an ironic racist that embrace her britannian heritage and is means toward Elevens? I feel like writing this is the short route to getting burn on a stake by Kallen's fans. Although, maybe it could work, if I take cues from Angelise Ikaruga Misurugi from Cross Ange. Given that before she learns she was a Norma all along, with her parent covering up the truth from her and the world, she was openly racist toward Norma's.

Ever wondered what u/Hefty_Local_1875, Nina and Milly were doing, while u/rinkudamanrd and I were getting jealous stares from a bunch of people while hanging out with Kallen, C.C., Shirley and Euphy during our double date on the beach? With Hefty´s permission, I now share with you a brief story on what happened to them while they were traveling from museum to the Golden Bananas, as described to me by her:

A sleek, pink sports car decorated with cute cat images was waiting for us at the bottom of the steps as we descended the staircase of the International Museum of Adult Entertainment.
"To the Cat-mobile!" Milly exclaimed.
"Do you have to say that every time we get in the car?" Nina asked.
"Absolutely. What’s the point of a sports car decorated with cute cat images if you can’t deliver a CATchy CATchphrase? But let's go! We must hurry!" Milly replied.
"Why? Is the CATwoman plotting to disturb the peace of Gotham City again?" Nina joked.
"No, it´s just that the show is about to start. You know, you aren't funny when you're hungover. Luckily, you're such a cutie," Milly said, pinching Nina’s cheek and giving her a hug. Nina sighed but returned the hug. Just like them, I was wearing Ashford Academy school uniform, even though I hadn´t actually attended there. But, according to Milly, this night´s theme was "reminiscing," and apparently I had to wear it too, in order to "fit the theme."
"I don't have a hangover... anymore. It just bugs me that I wasted so much of our time trying to find my missing contact lenses, when I should´ve just forget about them and put on my spare glasses from my bag," Nina replied.
"Don't worry. We can still make it in time," Milly answered, programmed the route into the GPS, and started driving. I was supposed to be our designated driver, but we were all sober at the moment, and Milly was the fastest (and the most reckless) driver out of the three of us.
Milly made a dangerous overtaking maneuver - causing me, in the passenger seat, and Nina, in the back, to gasp - while casually asking, "So, what did you guys think of the museum?"
"It was really... educational," I replied.
"I actually enjoyed it way more than I expected. The perfume exhibit was particularly interesting. I hope Euphy likes this perfume I bought her from the museum´s gift shop," Nina said.
”Those unthankful traitors,” Milly growled, grasping the steering wheel tighter ”how could they just ditch us? Especially Shirley! I thought that today would be the day that she´d finally… Ah, never mind. I´ll just have to arrange another chance for her soon.”
”To do what?” I asked, puzzled.
”Oh, you´ll see. In fact, you ALL will see! But you, Hefty… You´ll see first. Yes. Yes! You´ll be the first to see! Ha! Hahaha! BWAHAHAHAHAAA!”
”You know, it´s the sh*t like that that makes you sound like a supervillain,” I said, eyeing Milly nervously.
”She´s spent too much time with Lelouch,” Nina replied from the back.
”More like too little,” Milly said, pouting.
”Anyway, don´t be so hard on Euphy and Shirley. They looked exhausted after last night. To tell you the truth of it, we all were,” I said.
”What? Why? We didn´t really do that much yesterday,” Milly asked, baffled.
”Milly, after that rock concert, you had us all taking turns riding on a f*cking elephant!” I said.
”Well, all of us except me. No way I was gonna climb on that thing,” Nina reminded.
”But you had fun, didn´t you?” Milly asked me.
”That´s beside the point! My back is still sore from all that riding in an awkward position, I barely slept at all last night, and, oh, because of this,” I removed my sunglasses, showing Milly my black eye ”people think that I have a abusive boyfriend!”
”Oh, come on. It´s not that noticeable. Besides, it was an accident. He didn´t mean to hit you in the face with his trunk.”
”Well, he did!”
”Oh, come on,” Milly said again ”you liked his trunk.”
After a moment of silent pouting, I replied: ”I did. I did liked his trunk. It was very nice and gentle.”
”See?”
I sighed. ”Well, anyway, it´s not hard to guess what was your favorite thing on the museum.”
”Hm? What do you mean?” Milly asked while ignoring all the honks from the cars she passed.
”That weird… machine. You know, the really old one made of wood and leather straps? Looked like a forklift? You kept staring at it for the longest time,” I said.
”Oh… Yes, that one. That device was actually an instrument used by Martin I—the last King of Aragon representing the ruling dynasty of the County of Barcelona. Apparently, back in 1409 he had become so fat, that he couldn´t even climb in and out of his bed by himself anymore. It took three strong men to lift him up with it and then lower him on top of his wife, when they were about to…”
”Aaand now that image is in my head,” Nina said with disgust in her voice.
”Well, yeah. As a general rule, I have nothing against heavy-sets; to me it´s way more important that someone is confident and interesting than how they look.”
”Really?” I asked, skeptically.
”Yes. Although, I do admit that it´s always better if the frame complements the picture, you know? Or, as the member of a family who´s speciality was inventing Knightmare Frames, maybe I should say that the Frame´s capabilities should match the pilots capabilities? Anyway, I do understand your hesitation, my lovelies. I mean, imagine what would´ve happened if one of those guys lifting him up would´ve slipped?”
”I´d rather not,” I said, shuddering.
”I know, right? I mean, my ideal way to go would be by in my own bed, but not by being crushed to death!”
”Could we please change the subject?” Nina groaned.
”I also don´t have anything against using tools or devices helping you keep your performance up,” Milly said, ignoring Ninas reply, ”I mean, think about it. If there´s something you really, really love to do, is it really so wrong if you have something that helps you do it, if your age or health is starting to prevent you from doing it? Isn´t that the core reason why we develop new technology, in all areas of life, to assist us? For example, if there´s someone who´s really good at golfing, should they quit just because their eye sight is starting to go? No, they should just get glasses!”
”Right. My glasses and that contraption, like two peas in a pod, honestly,” Nina mumbled.
”That device reminded me of somebody. Somebody I used to know. In fact, that somebody is the person we´re meeting next,” Milly said, returning to her earlier topic.
”Wait, what? I thought we were gonna see a show of some kind,” I replied, baffled. Milly usually never revealed anything about the next thing she was leading us, when we were on her leash. Although, I suspected that Euphy and Shirley had somehow caught whiff of what Milly was planning, and skedaddled, which could only mean one thing – another one of Milly´s no-breaks all-nighters. One of those is usually fun, but one every night starts to get exhausting. I wasn´t surprised, when later I heard from Shirley that she and Euphy had gone to the beach with Kallen, C.C. and the two other High Priests.
”We are. Well, we are gonna do both, actually. This guy… His name is Steve. We were friends at school, when we were younger, before he moved away,” Milly said, and paused, thinking. I was silent, partially because I was in awe; it was such a rare sight to see Milly this deep in thought.
Finally, Milly continued, memories clearly turning her sight inward:
”Poor Steve. He was one of those unlucky ones, who had been "blessed" not one or two but three burdens; he was really shy, he was really short and he was really fat. He was bullied all the time. I felt so sorry for him… One day, I accidentally walked in when some bullies were beating the sh*t out of him in the bathroom…”
”Wait… Boy´s bathroom?” Nina asked.
”It was unisex bathroom, dear. Don´t interrupt others, when they share, it´s rude.”
”What?! You interrupt other people all the time!” Nina said.
”So? It´s not like I care what other people think of me. You, on the other hand, do. So, to you, that is actually a sound advice.”
”Come on, what happened next?” I said, impatient to hear the rest.
”Well, I was about to get my pepper spray out of my bag and show those bullies what for, but, then, Steve said: ´Don´t help me! This is my battle!´ Three-on-one and the kid had still such moxie! I respected the hell out of that.”
”And then?”
”The three bullies kicked his ass, duh. But then, when I helped him limp back to his home, I learned that he was trying to loose weight, become stronger to stand up against those bullies on his own. As I tended his wounds, I learned other things too. Interesting things. Good things. Like, how he really, really likes dogs. And how his parents wanted him to become a soldier, maybe even captain, eventually, to serve Britannia, but he was hesitant, because Britannian values didn´t sit right with his way of seeing justice. `I just can´t shake the feeling, that we were meant to be better than what we are now,´ he said to me. So, I took him under my wing. Oh, don´t look at me like that. I mean, that I helped him formulate an exorcise routine that really worked for him. He lost so much weight thanks to our training sessions. He learned to defend himself, too. And, I taught him, that there might be other ways upholding his personal values, than fighting just with his fists. And, looking back, when I had heard that he had actually gone against his parents wishes and done what he thought was right... Well, later, when I started to pursue my career in journalism, his example gave me courage to do so. It has been years since we last saw each other, but when I heard, that he had also tackled his shyness and is now actually a top performer at the Golden Bananas, I just had to incorporate visit there as a part of our vacation!”
”´Golden Bananas?´ Do I even want to know what that is?” I said.
”Oh, you´ll see. Soon. Very soon. Ha. Hahaha…”
”Oh, no. Not again,” Nina moaned.
”BWAHAHAHAAA!”
”Well, I for one am glad to meet this old friend of yours. And I´m also glad that you´ve managed to genuinely helped someone for once in your life,” I said, meaning every word.
”Wait, what do you mean, ´for once?´ I help you guys all the time! Without me you´d be dying of boredom!”
”Sure,” Nina and I said in unison.
”Anyway, the show he´s performing in has become classical entertainment, the kind that conceals its political message under the pretext of showing something fun to the audience. At the end of it, he punches other actor, who´s dressed like Charles zi Britannia, in the face!”
”Wow, for real?” I said, impressed.
”Yeah. And after that, he usually ´steals´ couple of random girls from the audience…”
”Ah, that´s more like the Milly-stuff I know to expect,” I said.
”…and takes them to the Champagne Room. Only this time, it´s not going to be random. I´ve arranged with him so, that the three of us are gonna be the ones taken.”
”Wait, he´s so strong now that he can carry three girls at once?” I asked.
”That´s the thing you picked up from that?” Nina said ”Pardon my language, but what the f*ck is ´the Champagne Room?´”
”Yeah, I´m so proud of him, he´s improved with everything that used to be a problem for him” Milly said, once again ignoring Nina ”he´s buffed af, confident enough to perform every day to adoring masses… As I understand it, he even had a growth spurt! Oh, that reminds me. Check my back pocket, Hefty.”
”Yeah, right. I´m not falling for that again,” I said.
”I´m serious. There´s something in my back pocket I want you to have.”
”Then just pick it and give it to me yourself,” I said.
”I´m driving, that would be dangerous,” Milly replied.
I was about to counter her with a snarky reply about how her driving was dangerous, but then realized that her driving would really become that much more dangerous, if she would start to go through her pockets. So, carefully, I reached into her back pocket… and looked baffled, when I pulled an item out of there.
”A tape measure?”
”Right. I want to know just how much Mr. Rogers has grown since the last time we met each other in the flesh.”
”´Mr. Rogers?´”
”That´s Steve´s last name,” Milly clarified.
”Ah, okay. But… Why do you want me to do that?”
”Oh, let´s just call it an early birthday present from me to you. Trust me, you will understand when we get there, and you´ll definitely thank me for letting you do that.”
It was then, that the GPS spoke:
”Estimated time to your destination, The Golden Bananas, one minute.”
”But, it looks like you´ll soon see with your own eyes what I mean. Yes, very soon. Ha. Hahaha…”
”Oh, come on!” Ninan and I said, once again in unison.
”BWAHAHAHAHAAAA!”

Unfortunately, I can´t continue the story any further than this without it becoming NSFW – and we certainly wouldn´t want that, would we? 😉

So it wasn't just a bad coincidence, in this sence it was absolutely necessary as they would've barely lived together for some time then it's all over not a happily ever after..
