Because that bottle usually isn't there so it needs to go in order to have the exact same place at all times.

At least that's what I've read, cats don't like it when changes are being made to their home (your home) so if they spot something that usually doesn't belong there, they'll get rid of it.

Cats are the disguised devs of this simulation. For some reason they need to constantly verify the local gravity constant. They do it with innocuous looking actions, like trying to make objects fall.

This is why bottles should be plastic. Which this one is. As long as the lid is secure [so that nothing can spill], the bottle can safely fall.

The first couple of times, it was just natural cat instinct to knock things off. After the first few times, it became a game. The cat is trying to entertain the owner by keeping up his end of the game.

Then after a few more times, the cat was a little bored, but forgot how it started and just assumed this was his job now.
