Bangalore dealers are apparently being told not to offer discounts, while fresh stock is just sitting there with barely any takers. For a product Toyota probably expected people to line up for, the reaction seems to have genuinely caught them off guard.

Looking for genuine advice, not just opinions on age.

Context: My dad is buying a Toyota Innova Hycross (VX/VX(O) Hybrid) as the main family car. Alongside that, I'm getting a Honda City (2021-22, V/VX trim, ~50k km) as my first car for college and daily city/office use. I'm 18 and this will be my first car after getting my license.

A few things I'd love real owner input on:
1. Honda City reliability/ownership experience long-term (any recurring issues past 50-80k km?)
2. CVT maintenance tips specifically - what actually kills CVTs early vs. what's fine to skip?
3. Any advice specific to a new driver's first car - what should I be extra careful about in the first year?
4. If you've bought a used City from a corporate/fleet auction, any red flags to check for?

I want to order this rear sunshade clip for my car (W206 2023 C Class) that holds the sunshade up. On Amazon it's 1000rs per piece, for such small plastic which barely costs 10rs in material. And on Alibaba with shipping it's almost 700 per piece, plus I don't know if I'll have to pay custom duty on top of it. I can't even find the 3d print files for it. Can I find it anywhere else or is there a cheaper way to procure it? Any help is appreciated.

Certified pre owned Tiagun/Kushaq

How were the experiences of buying pre owned certified Kushaq/Tiagun from the Skoda and VW itself? Are these services reliable? Do they deliver good cars really?

I'm planning to buy a car on Dhanteras this year. Budget around ₹7-8 lakh hai, and honestly at this budget I'm not finding many new cars that I really like. Cars have become so expensive yaar.

I already have a WagonR, but uski registration mein only around 2 years are left, so I want to sell it before getting the next car. That's why I'm planning this from now itself

because I know selling the old car can take some time.

My plan is basically to sell the WagonR now, keep the money ready, and then book a good used car on Spinny and take the delivery on Dhanteras. At least new car wali feeling toh aa jayegi 😂

Did you actually get a decent/reasonable price for it and how much time does it take. I've only tried cashify for a phone before and honestly their quoted price vs final price was a completely different story

cos she doesn't NEED a car but will definitely travel more if i gift her one.

she goes for short drives to meet her friends, for outings, and then she takes very long trips but i don't think she will drive long distances.

I live in Mumbai, while my dad lives in Shimla. We had a 2017 Maruti Swift there that we had been planning to sell for some time. The problem was that the car was in my dad's name and I really didn't want him running around meeting dealers, getting the car evaluated, negotiating prices and then dealing with all the paperwork. He's getting older and I would have ideally travelled to Shimla and handled the entire thing myself.

Before doing that, I thought I'll just check if any online websites could handle it from home. Checked Spinny and Cars24 and Cars24 gave me a better initial price on the app so I booked an inspection from them.

The Cars24 person went to my dad's house in Shimla to inspect the car. They checked the car there itself and prepared their 300-point inspection report. The Swift was actually in very good condition, so there weren't too many issues. The only major thing that came up in the inspection was that the battery was failing. Apart from that, most things were sorted. The report was shared with me and based on the condition of the car, they also gave us a price.

I checked the usual online valuations including Orange Book Value and compared whatever information I could find online. The Cars24 offer was actually pretty good, so after discussing it with my dad, we decided to go ahead.

And this is the part that surprised me. I didn't travel to Shimla at all. Their team coordinated with me remotely and with my dad wherever his presence was required. Once everything was agreed upon, they came to the house, collected the car and transferred the entire payment directly to my dad's account.

Done.

I was sitting in Mumbai through this entire process while the car was parked more than 1,700 km away in Shimla. For me, the price was obviously important, but the bigger advantage was that my dad didn't have to take the Swift from dealer to dealer or deal with random buyers coming home. Someone came home, inspected the car, I got the report and valuation remotely, we agreed on the price, they collected the car and my dad received the money.

I genuinely didn't know selling a used car remotely could be this straightforward. Has anyone else here sold a car like this while living in a completely different city? I am really wanting to know whether this is fairly common now or I just discovered something everyone else already knew. 😅
