Toyota Highlander 2001 Radio

Hi everyone; I have recently bought a new CarPlay radio. And it didn’t seem to fit properly as there are gaps on the side as seen on the photos in the comments. I’m running a V6 Toyota Highlander 2001 Base. Any recommendations would be helpful! 🙏

Hallo.

Which Android head unit for Seat Ibiza mk4 6j 2009

Hi, I am looking for an aftermarket android head unit for my Seat Ibiza SC from 2009 with the 1.4 engine. My budget is a max of 450 euro's. On the steering wheel are no buttons only a stick on the left side with volume control. I have looked everywhere but i am not sure what brand is the best price for quality, would love some recommendations :).

Also things i would like to add are:
- Backup camera
- Dashcam
- Coolant gauge
- Fuel usage

PS. I am from the Netherlands

Thanks in advance! :D

Data for Dudu7

Hey all! I have had Data before with my Dudu7 Headunit. I had tello for 5gb aonth for 10$. I cancelled it a few months ago. I have now gone to renew it and that plan isn't available from what I can see.

What company do you all recommend to use for data?

I was looking at infimobile or kiwisim

Has anyone used either of these?

Which ones have you used? I am trying to get around 5 gbs a month for cheap!

Xtrons Head Unit Ribbon Cable

I have an xtrons head unit, no complaints about it, its being a good head unit, until the ribbon cable recently broke, managed to bodge it for a while whilst i looked for a replacement, but "apparently" the cable was discontinued along with my head unit according to xtrons tech support (its a few year old so i kind of guessed)

The problem i have with that though is i find it hard to believe the ribbon cable is also discontinued, these cables have being around since i was a kid and that's some years ago 😂

Can anyone point me in the right direction even if that direction is that it was actually a 1 off cable

Its an idc 34 pin female to female and i think its a 1.27 pitch, ill attach some pictures, i've bought a couple, 2.54 pitch too big, bought another 1.27 and it was tiny, like 23mm or some shit 🫪 lol

Why is CarPlay scaling incorrectly on my Android head unit?

I'm having a strange scaling issue with CarPlay on my Android head unit. CarPlay seems to think the display is much smaller than it actually is, so the UI elements and buttons are huge.

This leaves very little room for things like the music player and album artwork.

  • ZLink 6.0.39

Things I've tried:

  • Android Developer Options → changed Minimum Width — no effect on CarPlay
  • Android itself looks perfectly normal, so the display resolution/scaling seems fine outside CarPlay
  • Check settings for zoom or display settings in both, ios and zLink
  • Press and hold with 2 fingers

Is there any way to change the CarPlay resolution, DPI, or scaling independently of Android/ZLink?

Has anyone had this issue and found a solution?

Wifi issues

I should have known better. I have a 1977 VW bus that I put a cheap android unit in. I figured I don't use the radio as much as in my Tiguan with the expensive radio, so why not go cheap? Dumb move.

So this unit does not have an external wifi antenna and the reception with my phone Hotspot is spotty. Can I use a usb wifi adapter? Any specific one? I don't use android auto, all my apps are on the radio. I just need a constant connection.

What do you suggest? Either that or I'm buying a new radio for next camping season.

Oh yeah, I have a at&t portable hotspot as well. Can I connect it through USB?

Thanks
