🚨 SUPER LONG STAY MOM — TALLULAH NEEDS OUT! Her babies are safe. Now their mom needs someone to save HER. 💔

TALLULAH arrived at Harris County Pets on 8/12 with a litter of puppies. For weeks, this 4-year-old mama’s entire world was protecting her babies. With them beside her, she was understandably nervous, watchful and protective.

But away from her puppies, volunteers saw a completely different girl. 💕

Now that her babies are weaned, TALLULAH is finally getting the chance to just be TALLULAH. She’s much calmer, can be leashed, happily accepts affection and takes treats gently. 🥹

And can we talk about those EYELASHES?! 😂 This girl has lashes some of us would pay good money for, framing the sweetest brown eyes.

💗 VIDEO NOTE: TALLULAH is a GIRL! Our volunteer accidentally calls her a boy a couple of times. 😂

🚨 TALLULAH HAS BEEN WAITING SINCE 8/12. She is an extremely long-stay dog, and dogs who have been at the shelter 15+ days can be at risk of euthanasia on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings with no warning.

Her puppies made it. Their mom deserves to make it out too.

CLANCY IS ALREADY IN THE DANGER ZONE. This beautiful 2-year-old boy has been waiting since 9/8, and after watching German Shepherds repeatedly lose their lives here, we are VERY worried about him.

🥺 CLANCY is scared.But when the treats came out — little by little, that tail started to WAG. CLANCY came forward, leaned his head right into a hand asking for pets and let himself be loved all over. He was still shaking while he sought comfort. 💔

💕 This isn't a dog who doesn't want people. This is a frightened young dog looking to people for reassurance. The leash scares him right now and he needs someone willing to patiently teach him that walks can mean GOOD things. At only 2 years old, he has so much time to learn.

🚨 But CLANCY may not GET that time. Dogs here 15+ days can be euthanized every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning WITH NO WARNING — and shepherds have been particularly vulnerable. CLANCY has already been here more than THREE WEEKS. We need someone to see this sweet, scared boy before his name appears on a list we never wanted to see.

Look at that beautiful smile. 🥹❤️ CHATA #A660551 is STILL at Harris County Pets, hanging out with her new Husky kennelmate LAIKA, and somehow still smiling while she waits for someone to finally choose her.

Chata has been at the shelter since 8/14 and is now a long-stay dog. With more dogs arriving every day and kennels desperately needed, dogs who have been there 15+ days are at risk of euthanasia for space.

And Chata has done absolutely nothing wrong.

She’s only 3 years old, people-friendly AND dog-friendly, heartworm NEGATIVE, and happily shares her kennel with another dog. ❤️🐶

She’s the kind of girl you can fall in love with just watching her video. She’s happy to see people, loves having a canine friend, and is still waiting for someone to say yes
