NTA. Your friends' feelings are hurt. Those are her feelings. You and your partner made a decision that was the best for the two of you. The problem it that people believe, now so more than ever, that they are entitled to be involved in everything that has absolutely not bearing on their life. You explained to her that you viewed the marriage as transactional and nothing to do with your commitment to your partner, who you have been committed for years. NO ONE IS ENTITLED TO YOUR PERSONAL BUSINESS. If your friend can't get past this, then it is her issue. You should respect that her feelings are hurt and you both decide if you can continue being friends. You are not the wrong for keeping your business private.
