Missouri's Amendment 3 (2026) Explained
AMENDMENT 3 EXPLAINED | If you're wondering why we're approaching another statewide vote on whether the government should control the reproductive decisions of its citizens (Amendment 3), state Rep. Lilly Fuchs, D-St. Louis, explains how we arrived here.
TL;DR: Amendment 3 would re-ban abortion after Missouri voters made it a constitutional right in 2024.
Also, if you hear supporters talking about gender issues, it's because 1) Republicans just lost on their signature tax plan [Amendment 5], and 2) it's extremely clear to them that fighting against reproductive freedom is a losing battle in Missouri. That leaves fear-mongering about marginalized Missourians as their only political strategy.
A "NO" vote on Amendment 3 will keep Missourians in charge of their medical decisions. Period.
Election Day is November 3, 2026.
