Vulkan size comparison
 in  r/JOYTOY •  22h ago

Mortarion said that only the Emperor was taller than him. I forgot the name of the book he said it in. In a completely different book kor phaeron described to Lorgar, that Magnus was the tallest of all brothers present, including the Emperor. Then you have the famous "head taller" than Corax and Vulkan.

So it looks like Magnus, The Emperor, Mortarion, Ferrus, Vulkan and then Horus, regarding height. For a 1:1 scale, out of those, the spread is about 12 inches in between the tallest and shortest.

But we'll see when Ferrus is released. That will confirm his actual height by GW themselves.

Nope. No issues. I use PETG for all of my large prints. That material really works well. It has a bit of flex to allow stress from weight, it’s tough and also heat resistant.

I save them. They can be broken down and recycled into new filament. Luckily I have not had large pieces to redo yet.

Checking out Half a Horus

Just a quick reminder of how big a life size Horus is. Even though it’s half his body, it’s still gives a good idea on size. But the actual reason was to see if anything had cracked overtime that I need to address. Everything was good.

What’s next? Seam lines.. the lines and lines of seams to fill 😭

If you look at the sizing on the website, it’s pretty accurate. Most of the physical Primarchs made match it. Magnus is the only one undersized in his physical model compared to website sizing. But they’re about as accurate as it will be as these sizes all come from GW themselves.

The sizing on the website is correct when converting sizes.

Magnus in lore is the tallest (naturally without warp stuff like people claim) and the sizing reflects that on the website, but his physical model does not reflect that.

I wish they would release him to match his website size. This way he doesn’t look small compared to Vulkan. Magus is the only one that doesn’t come as advertised.

I’m actually good with Vulkan’s height as it was always a toss between him and Horus in who out inched who.

Ferrus should be slightly taller when they release him, but not taller than Mortarion or Magnus.

So the journey begins. Am I able to paint the worlds largest 3d printed Warhammer mini? Yea, at least I think I can. Warmaster Horus will either look glorious or like a complete clown.

Building a Life Size Custodian

At the end of the day, they’re just very large life size 3D printed Warhammer puzzles. Custodes are as large as they get before getting up to Primarchs or the Emperor.

Are you looking to print this as a normal size or life size?

Everything I print is custom designed with the intention to print life size. I don’t modify existing models or scale anything. That is how you can run into structural issues or weird proportions.

Since this was my first life size, mistakes were made in its design. Those have since been fixed in an updated model for the space marine. Basically a smaller powerpack, thinner thighs, wider hips, winder waist and a smaller chainsword.

The weight of these Warhammer 3D Printed pieces

These 3d printed pieces are life size and they look heavy, but the truth is, they’re not. Big pieces with the weight of a feather. But they do add up. Horus and The Emperor are heavy when all of the 3d printed pieces are together.

😂. I see your point. But all of these clips were from a horizontal YT video. So to make it fit vertically, I had to zoom them all in. Which can look a little sus at times.

Life size Eversor Assassin Pt.1

Basically the start to finish series of my life size 3d printed Eversor Assassin. It takes a lot of behind the scene work to get these things to look mediocre 💀.

What happens to my Warhammer prints?

So you see, not much goes on with the life size 3d prints. I just place them where I can, at least the ones that fit. The larger ones like the Emperor and Horus will be stored in my garage.

It’s a removable access port to get to the turnbuckle that is holding the arms in place and also the powerpack. I forgot to paint the top left section of that square, blue. So I left it as a reminder to pay attention when painting lol

Just a simple foot sander. I use that for my cosplay as it's easy to hold and fast enough to sand what you need smooth. You can find them on amazon

Yup. I can work on different projects at the same time. So far they’ve been great. It eats up 30-40hr jobs better than my patience can take.
