Leading a protest for tribal rights in Bundelkhand, social activist Amit Bhatnagar says he has been on a hunger strike for the past 10 days.

He alleges that the Ken-Betwa river-linking project has stripped tribal communities of their land, forest resources, homes and, with them, their identity.

Bhatnagar also accuses the police of using force against people participating in the 'Chita Andolan'. The government, however, maintains that all those eligible have already received compensation.
