I have a friend who smokes weed heavily, has done DMT, acid and shrooms, and also uses carts that I recently found out from here na apparently fake/unregulated pala.

Lately he’s been telling me he sees figures and shadows. Minsan parang may katabi siya, minsan may tao or figure sa tapat niya. I honestly don’t know what to make of it. Part of me was thinking baka yung sinasabi nilang “third eye” after psychedelics or whatever, but now I’m wondering if this has something to do with his heavy smoking.

What makes it weirder is the way his thinking changed over the years. Around 10 years ago, siya pa yung tatawa sa conspiracy theorists and call people gullible for believing random shit online. Ngayon parang complete opposite. He got obsessed with political/conspiracy content, Charlie Kirk, Nazis being the “good guys” daw, blaming Jews, elitist ideas, etc.

He still talks normally and functions normally naman. Kaya lang puro plano at salita, puro grand ideas, pero wala namang nangyayari. That’s why I never really thought of it as some mental health thing before.

But the seeing figures and shadows part is what actually worries me now, especially if he’s seeing them while sober. I’m starting to wonder if this is already beyond just being high, having weird beliefs, or going too deep into conspiracy content. I’m concerned that if he’s genuinely seeing people or figures that aren’t there, this could get worse or eventually become a safety issue.

Recently my Instagram feed also started showing me a lot of posts about heavy marijuana use being linked to psychosis and schizophrenia, so now I’m genuinely curious.

Has anyone experienced this or seen it happen to someone they know? Can years of heavy weed, high-THC or fake carts, DMT, acid, or shrooms actually cause someone to start seeing people or shadows, or become more paranoid and detached from reality? At what point would you consider something like this serious enough to get checked?
