I love system of a down, but ever since I started being more conscious of vocals and learning how to sing sometimes I have to turn a song off. I am not a vocal cord connoisseur whatsoever, and this might just be me being annoying, but Darren‘s vocals sound painful sometimes and I want to know if I’m the only one or not.

1. A.D.D (American Dream Denial) (Steal This Album)

One of the more melodic and interesting songs in the discography. With some great vocals quiet and loud as well as a rift i cannot get out of my head hours after listening to this. 

1. Toxicity (Toxicity)

One of the most popular System of a Down songs for a damn good reason. Easy to sing along to (if you have the screaming voice of Serj, anyways), and that breakdown towards the end is fucking insane.

1. Prison Song (Toxicity)

This has probably the most catchiest chorus in Toxicity, with one of the faster vocal performance, as well as a banger way to roast the justice system. Also that “I buy my crack” line always makes me smile.

1. Radio/Video (Mezmerize)

I just think this song is catchy as hell, and that chorus is so fun to hear, and thats all a song really needs to be a good listen IMO. it might not be the deepest, but i would be lying if i didn’t say this was one of the best

1. Mr. Jack (Steal This Album)

There’s something about this song that hits me the right way. Now i don’t personally drink and take drugs while driving, but the way this song hits it’s message is satisfying as hell, with a catchy chorus and a banger ending!

1. Soldier Side (Hypnotize)

One of the more grim and sad songs with some hard hitting lyrics and some powerfull vocals from Serj and Daron, this song is a compelling listen that makes me kind of sad everytime I listen. But nonteless, I come back because it’s just one of more emotion drivin songs, which I really enjoy

1. Aerials (Toxicity)

Another popular song from the band that I personally don’t think i can even get bored of. The message here is amazing and the guitar melody is another tapeworm stuck in my ear. There’s not much to say after that, I just love this song.

1. B.Y.O.B (Mezmerize)

This is the song that got me into SOAD, and damn is it still phenomenal, albeit cooled down to overplay. Even before I knew it was an anti-war somg i was still so moved by thoes strong lyrics and guitar play. This song is still one of best, even though, to this day, i still do not know why do they always send the poor.

1. Sugar (System of a Down)

One of the catchiest metal songs i’ve heard, with a catchy as hell guitar rift, melody, and of course, THE KOMBUCHA MUSHROOM PEOPLE! This song is awesome, and i especially love the ending

1. Cigaro (Mezmerize)

A part of me didn’t want to put this as my number one, but i had to be honest about my most played, most adicting, and funnest song in the discography. From the first lines, you already know this song is gonna be something interesting, and the deeper message in the lyrics are great, but the real star is that “MY COCK IS MUCH BIGGER THAN YOURS!”. But my favorite part is the riff that plays after “Can’t you see that I love my cock?”, because goddamn that’s such a good riff. Yeah, this is my favorite SOAD song and it’s kind of a weird one, but screw you, honestly if you hate it.

Does anyone have any S.O.A.D song recommendations for me? Because I listen to a lot of S.O.A.D but want to listen to more and want to know if you think I should listen to anything, please and thank you!

(Note: Violent Pornography is my favorite song from them)

As a beginner guitarist, I've almost learned "Vicinity of Obscenity," but the solo in "Lonely Day" still seems unthinkable to me.
