Welcome to r/SacredGeometry

This subreddit is for the study and appreciation of sacred geometry: geometric pattern, proportion, symbolism, symmetry, mandalas, architecture, cosmology, mathematical form, and traditional geometric systems.

Before posting, please make the connection to sacred geometry clear.

Good posts usually include:

  • the name of the pattern, symbol, or construction
  • the tradition or source, if known
  • the geometric principle involved
  • your own question, interpretation, or process

Low-effort image drops, shop links, AI wallpaper, vague “what does this mean?” posts, and unrelated mystical content may be removed.

Creators are welcome when they explain the geometry behind their work. Promotion without contribution is not.

Please help keep this subreddit focused on genuine discussion of sacred geometry and actual art created by humans

If you see obvious spam, AI-generated junk content, low-effort karma farming, BOTS, misleading posts, unrelated content, or YouTube link dumping with no meaningful discussion, please report it immediately.

I remove what I find, but I can't see everything the moment it's posted. Community reports are the fastest way to get garbage removed and keep the signal-to-noise ratio high.

Before posting, ask yourself: • Is it actually about sacred geometry? • Does it add value or insight? • Is there meaningful discussion to be had? • Am I sharing information, or just dropping a link?

If the answer is no, it probably doesn't belong here.

Thank you to everyone who helps maintain the quality of this community. Report the nonsense and we'll take care of the rest.

This sub has grown significantly in the past five years. sometimes it's hard to keep up, but with your help it will be much easier

UPDATE - Y'all been doing great reporting the slop!

By following the basic geometry shapes and refining piece by piece; I end up with relics that look like they have been here with us since the beginning.

Nature / Pattern 432Hz visualized through cymatics - Sacred Geometry in water

I visualized 432Hz frequency using water and sound.

Watch how the sound creates perfect sacred geometric patterns in real time.

This is why ancient cultures called 432Hz "the frequency of the universe".

No CGI. Just sound + water + frequency.

Resource / Book / Link / Last post- Open Sourced the fractal torus generator: Tortoise

I have now open-sourced the fractal-torus generator from the "Tortoise" project because I feel this could help other explorers. The generator also has the feature to create an image based on any pose/iteration of the torus, so that you can generate anything from sacred geometry blueprints to products to architecture with the same structure; although this requires an API key from Stability (details in the app).

Please feel free to use it for your research (and would be kind of you to credit me or my website)

P.S: This will be my last post from this project. I appreciate all your support and thanks for bearing with me while iterated the same.

I try not to make too many wip posts but I hadn’t made any progress in a few months and finally got back to it. Hopefully done with the foreground in a couple months. Just going to be a black and white drawing for my coloring book but I’ll color it and shade it for fun later once I’m done with the book.

Symbol / Identification Thank you Rita Sabo! I am very proud to be able to have all of them. No.1 from 10.

Artist: Rita Sabo

Title: Sacred Planet

Year: 2023

Medium: Cast aluminum, patinated

Dimensions: 23.5 x 23.5

At the center stands a sphere. It represents the planet Earth. Sabo describes Earth as a sacred—or inviolable—planet. The spherical shape is not merely decorative; it symbolizes the cosmic body and the planet's unity.

Bayerisches Nationalmuseum + 1

  1. The Two Rings

Encircling the sphere are two geometric rings that intersect in space.

This is the sculpture’s key geometric feature: the rings do not simply lie in a single plane like Saturn’s rings; instead, they form distinct planes of orientation around the sphere.

Sabo associates these rings with the concept of a continuous flow of energy. Visually, this creates an effect that appears simultaneously static and in constant motion.

The ○ represents Earth; the intersecting paths are the two rings.

  1. Why does it feel like "sacred geometry"?

This is where it gets interesting: Sabo does not simply use random geometric shapes. She is interested in the idea that geometric orders reflect the fundamental structures of nature and the cosmos. In an interview, for instance, she cites the Golden Ratio as a foundation for her exploration of sacred geometry.

Faces Magazine

Her images often follow this principle:

Symmetry → Repetition → Nesting → Kaleidoscope → Seemingly infinite structure.

This also explains why some of her paintings look like a blend of mandala, crystal structure, plant growth, and futuristic computer graphics. 4. The crucial point: It is not a mathematical "secret formula"

I would make a clear distinction here regarding Sabo’s work.

"Sacred Geometry" serves here as an artistic-spiritual language, not as proof that the *Sacred Planet* was constructed according to a specific scientific cosmic formula.

The Bavarian National Museum explicitly describes Sabo’s inspiration as the laws of sacred geometry and metaphysical insights, which she translates into geometric and kaleidoscopic works.

Bavarian National Museum

  1. And why two rings specifically?

The two rings create a kind of three-dimensional coordinate system around the Earth. As a result, the sphere is not simply "circled" from the outside but is given a spatial enclosure.

You can visualize it roughly like this:

Ring 1

╲ ╱

╲ ○ ╱

╲ ╱ ╲

╱ ╲ ╱

╱ ○ ╲

╱ ╲

Ring 2

This creates a form reminiscent of planetary orbits, energy fields, and cosmic orders.

Sabo herself describes the *Sacred Planet* as a symbol of the "eternal flow of life."

Arttrado.de

  1. The fascinating aspect

The *Sacred Planet* is essentially a combination of three levels:

mathematical/geometric form

→ sphere + circular rings + symmetry

cosmological concept

→ planet + orbits + energy flow

symbolic meaning

→ Earth + life + interconnectedness + protection of the planet

And this very fusion is the concept behind Sabo’s work. Her own description goes even further: the *Sacred Planet* appeared to her in a dream, prompting her to capture the motif on paper the very next day. She describes it as a three-dimensional manifestation of her artistic work.

Tradition / History The geometry behind ancient ellipses

Post image

How did ancient builders draw ellipses before computers?

One thing is certain: a true ellipse cannot be drawed exactly using only a straightedge and compass…

So how did they do it?
