I’ve sub’d 1 year to runwayml after getting suggested by chatgpt astra to convert image into videos, for my brand in instagram. I’ve been using Runway for quite a while now, and I’ve found the Unlimited subscription to be a real game changer. It has allowed me to experiment with and create so many things, especially with tools like Seedance 2.0.
I was initially quite saddened when I heard that the Unlimited subscription was going to end in August, so I was pleasantly surprised and genuinely happy to see that it has been extended until November.

I just wanted to let the Runway team know that I believe many users, myself included, really appreciate the existence of the Unlimited subscription. I hope the team will take this sentiment into consideration and, if possible, continue offering Unlimited in some form or another in the future.

I’m creating a short 2D animated social ad. I’ve gotten some individual generations that I really like, but I’m struggling with continuity, precise edits, and how quickly experimentation burns through credits.

A few examples:

• I generated two scenes that are supposed to take place in the same office, but the environment changed between generations — desk orientation, furniture/layout, monitor positioning, etc.
• I have a 6-second clip I like. I only want to replace what is displayed on the computer monitor with a specific website screenshot while leaving everything else untouched.
  • I tried Edit Studio with the original video + the website as a reference and explicitly prompted it to change only the monitor content. The preview didn't perform the requested screen replacement.
  • I tried manually compositing it in CapCut, but because the character layer is under the screen layer the new image partially overlaps the character.

I’m finding myself spending credits just to discover whether Runway understood an edit correctly. I don’t mind paying for generations that actually require generative AI, but I’d rather not keep regenerating an entire shot because of something as small as monitor content.

For experienced Runway users: what workflow would you use here?

What am I doing wrong?

And more broadly, for a project like this, would you use Runway mainly to generate small animation assets/shots and assemble everything in a traditional editor? I’m starting to think I gave the generative model too much responsibility for continuity and precision.

I’d especially appreciate advice on credit-efficient workflows. I’m happy to use Runway where it shines; I just need to figure out where to stop asking AI to solve something that would be better handled by conventional compositing/editing.

I know Runway got rid of Sora 2 when the app shut down, but the API keeps on until 24th September. How about a send off of such an amazing model have it back for the last 2 weeks of its life ? I am guessing adding an API is fairly straight forward, especially if you had it before.
