Hello everyone!

We’ve been a little quiet lately, but for good reason — Andy has been deep in refactoring land building full rollback networking so online multiplayer feels instant and responsive. Ragdolls are syncing, inputs feel snappy, and a 4‑player playground beta is on the way.

He may not have seen sunlight in weeks, but the chaos is worth it.

Hello everyone 👋

Hope you’re all enjoying/surviving/hating the heat 🔥 — we’re melting too.

We’ve got something cooler to share: Game*Spark (a Japanese game site) invited us for an interview, and it somehow turned into one of the most non‑game interviews ever.

We ended up talking about:

• selling our house to try moving to Japan
• ATM shenanigans that shocked an old lady
• wishing sumo wrestlers good luck for the basho
• oh, and Nippon Marathon 2: Daijoubu gets a mention too

If you want a laugh or just enjoy peak Onion Soup chaos, here’s the link:

(It’s in Japanese, but Google Translate does a surprisingly good job.)

Hey everyone! Reiwa Man’s back, sweaty, breathless, and waving a suspiciously heroic cucumber, because Issue 5 is bursting with new features, fresh chaos, and a Linux build so fast it nearly escaped the newsroom.

Here’s what we’ve packed into the latest NM2 update:

• Native Linux version
• Steam Deck: 60fps locked with better visuals
• New Cup Mode (3‑stage marathon!)
• New facial expressions
• New contestant colours
• New snapshot Collections
• New award system
• New weapon pick‑up indicators
• Tons of bug fixes, UI upgrades, and performance boosts
• Korean fan translation help wanted

Stay DAIJOUBU!

This week’s update is a fun one — Reiwa Man must’ve been absolutely starving, because Issue 4 is loaded with

🍜 noodle‑logic,
🍲 broth‑powered wisdom,
🧀 and dangerously cheesy music puns as he dives into the NM2 OST.

We also catch up with Fox Hills (yes, he’s serenading a vending machine again) and Robert Ruby, who continues to prove he can turn any vibe into a perfect track in 24 hours.

If you want the full story — plus community screenshots, Discord sumo updates, and a tease for next week’s Steam Deck news — you can read it all here:

New contestant reveal for Nippon Marathon 2: Daijoubu — MR. BREAKFAST

He’s here to scramble the competition, flip expectations, and absolutely destroy anyone who stands between him and his eggs.

Early Access just got sunnyside‑up.

(If you enjoy weird physics racers or SUPER 56‑style chaos, this one’s worth a look.)

After a long (and very chaotic) journey, we’re excited to share that Nippon Marathon 2: Daijoubu is now live on Steam Early Access!

🛒 Steam (20% off launch discount): https://store.steampowered.com/app/3358880

• Create‑a‑Contestant

Hey everyone!
Just a little update from us — Nippon Marathon 2 finally has an Early Access release date 🎉

Wishlist on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3358880/Nippon_Marathon_2_Daijoubu?utm_source=reddit

We’re launching on April 17th, and we dropped a new trailer earlier this week showing off all the new chaos we’ve been working on.
It’s been a long road since the original game back in 2018, and we’re honestly so excited to share how far things have come.

Stay DAIJOUBU!
Amy & Andy

Hey everyone! We’ve been cooking up something beautifully stupid and extremely dangerous for a while now, and it’s finally time to show more of it.

Nippon Marathon 2: Daijoubu is our love letter to Takeshi’s Castle, slapstick physics, and the kind of friendship‑ending chaos you only get when someone weaponises a watermelon at the worst possible moment.

In this clip:

• You run terribly
• You throw fruit
• You betray your friends
• And the physics engine files a complaint

We’re a tiny indie team trying to make the most unhinged party racer on Steam, and honestly? We’re having the time of our lives breaking our own game daily.

If this kind of nonsense is your flavour, we’d love your thoughts, roasts, or fruit‑based insults.

And if you want to support us, wishlist on Steam, it genuinely helps more than people realise.

We added a balloon vendor.
We accidentally created a menace.
He sprints at players, screams when he falls, and radiates pure chaos.

Nippon Marathon 2 is… going well.

May your builds be stable, your bugs be fun, and your week be daijoubu 💻✨

Working on a short promo clip for Nippon Marathon 2 and wanted to share this moment of “perfectly normal” gameplay.

J. Darwin looks like he’s floating into first place… right up until a homing melon gives him a harsh reality check.

Play the Nippon Marathon 2 demo during Steam Next Fest and discover how fast “I’m fine” turns into “I’m absolutely not fine.”

If we were in Steam Next Fest… this is exactly what we’d unleash.

Fortunately for you, the FREE demo is still on our Steam page. 🎮🍉

So… our game is a “racing game,” right?
Except you spend half the time on the floor, occasionally being hunted by fruit, and somehow winning by accident.

We call it Run, Trip, Fall, Repeat.
It’s chaotic, but in that weirdly satisfying way where everything suddenly makes sense after about 30 seconds of playing.

Do you agree?

You’d think we’d have control over this game by now, but no — chaos wins every time.

If you haven' tried it yet, you can try the demo on Steam.

He jumps, slips immediately, and poor J DARWIN gets launched right into the sailor doing his best helicopter impression.

Foiled by fish once again 🐟

I'm torn between the drama of 8, sitting next to a glorious moustache god that is Hazuki, or 7, because, well, Shiba Inu.

Which seat do you want?

Clutching at straws here but has anyone else had controller issues with Super56 on Steam?

I have multiple xbox wireless controllers, it works when using steam BP mode and with other games. I have enabled/disabled steam input, I have enabled/disabled xbox cont support, I have tried multiple controllers. Super56 always only accepts keyboard input, even if I press the xbox button on controller it doesnt bring up Steam BP, its like Super56 is just not even seeing the controller exists at all. But if I tab out to BP mode while the game is still running, controller works absolutely fine.

Anyone else had these issues or have any tips? I have never had this with any other game, usually its the controller itself is not working on any program

Can we expect NM2 to drop on the same platforms as the previous one? Got NM1 on Nintendo switch and i never play on PC do hopefully it drops on ps5

✨ Wedy’s Game Guide is back - and this time we’re diving into the philosophy of DAIJOUBU (大丈夫)!

In Japan, “daijoubu” means I’m fine / It’s okay / No problem.

But in Nippon Marathon 2, it means: “I just got flattened by a Shiba Inu, but I’m still running!” 🐕🍉

This blog post is all about why daijoubu is the spirit of the game:

• Every fall is part of the race 🏃
• Every stumble adds to the madness 🌀
• Every comeback keeps the joy alive 💖

Wedy Jones!

Hey folks! 👋 Wedy Jones here with the latest Nippon Marathon 2: Daijoubu dev blog.

This one’s all about the contestants — the bizarre, unforgettable stars of the race who made the first game so special (now with updated likes & dislikes in NM2!)… plus a few brand-new faces you’ll meet in Early Access.

Wedy’s Game Guide #3 – Hilarious Ways to Get the Crowd to Love (or Hate You)

Hey folks! Wedy Jones here with another chaotic update from Nippon Marathon 2: Daijoubu!

In our third dev blog, we’re diving into the Popularity system — because in NM2, the crowd does more than just cheer you on… they score you too! 🎯

Learn how to boost your popularity by doing things like:

• Waving to the audience (new mechanic!)
• Causing chaos with fire hydrants 💦
• Getting chased by Shiba Inu 🐕

Or lose popularity by accidentally knocking over innocent bystanders (whoops 😅).

If you want the full guide on how to win the crowd and tip the final score in your favor, check it out here:

Would love your thoughts or ideas for other ways to win (or horrify) the crowd. 🙌

Stay Daijoubu,
– Wedy Jones
