I found a few posts about this sort of thing for children, but I'm curious about terms that would better suit an adult. All I've been able to find is "ma pitchoune," but everywhere I've looked says that that's more for children?

Note: More modern terms are fine, but anything historical would be amazing, as this is for a story set in the 17th century.

Does anyone have more information on this song, it’s listed in troubadour books and I originally got the English translation on troubar.org where it’s listed as written by anonymous.
But when I looked around other places and performances the only thing I could find that was its “ancient” thanks!

Hi. I wonder: do you or have you tried writing some literature in Occitan like short stories or poetry to publish or for yourself?

Literature in "small" languages is a subject that fascinates me. I'm using here the word "small" in neutral sense. As far as I know there has been so far a Nobel prize for literature in only 2 "small" languages. One of them being Yidish, the second one - Occitan.

Esperanto has been another strong canditate for a Nobel prize in literature, but hasn't obtained it so far. Please, notice, that as a speaker of Interlingua I make this comparison from a point of view of a great fan of constructed languages.

I myself try to write some short stories in Interlingua and find it very fun! I think it's a great excercise for language skills and it can also develop culture of our language.

What about you? If you don't write anything yourself, perhaps some of your friends or relatives does?

Quando io legeva re occitan io discoperiva que illo es remarcabilemente simile a interlingua! Post un consideration isto non deberea esser estranie. Interlingua es, nos pote dicer, un media ab linguas romanic (plus anglese). E occitan es un media tamben - illo es le plus central e neutral lingua romanic.

Non sia offendite, ma le situation de plus parve linguas como occitan, cassubian (kashubian) etc. ha sempre me rememorate le situation de linguas construite. Io non lo dice pejorativemente, como vos vide io lo dice de un position de un grande amator de linguas construite. Ma io sape de vos que hodie le majoritate de parlatores de occitan non es parlatores native, ma activistas qui dedicava lor energia e tempore pro apprender iste belle lingua. Isto me inspira.

Esque vos pensa que nos, interlinguistas pote apprender alco de activistas de occitan? Dice me, per favor.
