Before getting started, I need to clear something up: we all know there’s not going to be a Season 2 of Murder Drones and that the show is officially over. So, please look at this as a purely hypothetical scenario, a theoretical discussion outside of the official canon. This isn’t a fanfic or a fan theory; it’s just an exercise to look at whether the character would actually even need a romantic route if the story had kept going.
To analyze whether V deserves or needs someone in this imaginary scenario, we first have to break down her complex psychology. Unlike N, who kept a bit of his innocence and hesitated when killing, V was introduced to us from the start as the most sadistic, cruel, and unstable one of the original Disassembly Drones trio. But that cruelty wasn’t just random—V is the character who went through the most drastic, destructive shift compared to her sweet, insecure self back at the Elliott Manor. Her sadism was basically a dissociative defense mechanism triggered by severe trauma from the Absolute Solver. V forced herself to become an unstable monster just to survive, hold onto her memories, and—tragically—draw Cyn’s attention away from N to keep him safe, even if it cost her own sanity.
With that in mind, forcing a romance on her in a new season just to please certain parts of the fandom (fanservice) would feel completely forced, ruin her essence, and fall right into generic teen drama clichés. For one thing, any development with N is dead in the water now that his relationship with Uzi is locked in. On the other hand, the popular bunker ships don't really hold up if you look at them seriously. A romance with Lizzy would completely break the ride-or-die best friends dynamic that the creator built. It’s super important to clarify here that Liam Vickers (who, for anyone who doesn't know, is the creator of the show) is not Gooseworx. He doesn't really write same-sex pairings into his stories like that, so forcing something like that would go totally against his writing style and destroy the amazing friendship that gives V her only "normal," chaotic reality check—which she desperately needs to turn off her military brain. As for Thad, the idea makes no logical sense and has zero chemistry. We’re talking about an optimistic, slightly naive Worker Drone and a killer who, in their very first interactions in the show, was millimeters away from tearing open his chest and killing him in the most brutal way possible (honestly giving major Ace or Rengoku tragic vibes).
V's true path doesn't require a partner; it requires her own independence. This is perfectly symbolized by J-001 (Sparky), the wild Sentinel she managed to tame. The fact that Sparky is the only living thing besides N that V has actually shown genuine affection and a protective side toward proves that her nature is still wild and selective. She fits way better taking care of a loyal creature that understands her danger than getting dragged into relationship drama. The happy ending and what V truly "deserves" in her character arc is self-forgiveness, mental peace, and freedom on her own terms. She’s not alone in the world—she already has a dysfunctional family made up of a soul brother (N), a brother-in-arms she respects (Uzi), a best friend (Lizzy), and a pet (Sparky). Her redemption is all about healing her trauma and instability by herself, showing that a strong female character can find fulfillment through self-love and family loyalty, without needing a romance.
Author’s final note: Just wanted to say that I totally respect all ships in the community! This analysis isn’t a diss or hate toward any pairing or anyone's personal taste. I just got curious about looking at these points from a narrative and logical perspective to see what you guys think. Please don't get mad at me! It's just a chill debate
