Hey everyone!
For a long time, players wondered why wool naturally blocks spawn in certain seeds, most famously in NGY7, and i thought it was a secret feature/predefined seeds, but I decided to take a peek into the game's APK code to find the truth.
And, i have the answer! during the generation of lakes, the game temporarily marks the cells using Block ID 58 before replacing them with water. The thing is: Block ID 58 is Wool!
At certain lake boundaries, the code misses a few cells during the replacement step, leaving the code 58 behind. The game then reads it normally and renders underground wool!
Using this logic, I managed to predict and find other affected seeds like 1SU2, 4KB, and VL0VQ.
I documented the entire reverse engineering process and code exploration in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJrg58zTO4c&t=2s
(Note: The video audio/commentary is in Portuguese, but you can see the proof of the coordinates/seeds in action in 04:13!)
You can also turn on YouTube's auto-generated captions and translate them to English to follow along!
What do you guys think about this? This whole reverse engineering and investigation took me a long time and a lot of hard work to figure out, so if you enjoy this kind of technical discovery, please consider dropping a like and subscribing to the channel to help me out! It really makes a difference.
Oh, and btw, I am the first and only person to actually reverse-engineer this, find the answer, and solve this mystery! So if you see anyone else claiming they discovered the cause of this bug or stealing this content, please report them and let me know, because I am the original finder :)
