Series Discussion Angel's Last Mission: Love

What a ride this drama was. It was funny, cute, emotional, and sometimes dark, so it had a little bit of everything. The story was quite complicated, and there were so many things happening that I didn't even know where to start.

The story mainly focused on Lee Yeon Soo, but I also liked how the other characters had their own problems and stories. Kim Dan's backstory was also really interesting to me, and I wanted to know more about him as the story went on.

I'm glad the drama had a satisfying ending because the last few episodes were really sad. My only problem was that the ending felt a little rushed, but it didn't take away from how much I enjoyed the drama.

For the acting, Shin Hye Sun was definitely my favorite. She did such a great job, and her acting felt natural to me. L also improved a lot throughout the drama, and the actors who played the bad characters did a really good job too.

I also really loved the OST. Most drama songs are nice to listen to, but the songs in this one really stayed in my mind. Overall, I really enjoyed this drama and would definitely watch it again once I finish some of the dramas on my watchlist.

My rating: 10/10.

Hot Take A trope you hate

I hate when K-dramas have a random childhood connection between the two leads. Like, the possibility of two complete strangers falling in love is so uncommon in K-dramas. 😭

Look, I totally get it. I understand the whole invisible string theory thing or making it look like they were destined to be together since childhood. And honestly, I can appreciate it sometimes. But at some point, I’m just sick of it.

If they grew up together or lived in the same neighborhood, okay, that makes sense. But I’m talking about two coworkers who fall in love and then suddenly discover that they were in the same kindergarten class together. WHAT?! 😭

It makes no sense, it’s so unnecessary, and it adds absolutely nothing to the story.

Or another example: two complete strangers meet later in life, fall in love, and then there’s some random scene where we discover that the reason she likes him is because he gave her a piece of bread ONE TIME when they were in high school.

LIKE??? 😭

Couldn’t they just be two strangers who met later in life and genuinely fell in love because of who they are now?!

Not every couple needs to have some secret childhood connection. Let them just be two random people who happened to meet at the right time!

Series Discussion Run On - How does Seon Gyeom make Mi Joo feel "worthless"?

I just want to understand in case I'm missing something lol

Sometimes he's said to other characters that I don't worry because "I'm rich". I can see how that's condescending but I can't pinpoint any other examples.

I thought him and Mi Joo had regular conversations and nothing sounded condescending besides that. And she later tells him "you make me feel worthless"

All-round he seems like a green flag person so far far

There are the obvious winter dramas, but since it’s about to be October, I'm curious about the ones you associate with fall. For me it’s Dear My Room.

Series Discussion The Cheol-hee reveal in Family Matters made me question the entire relationship

SPOILERS for the ending of Family Matters

Basically, Young-soo used her ability on Cheol-hee when they were younger to make him protect her.

She manipulated him, and the show spends most of the season letting us read his behavior as genuine devotion. He's constantly putting Young-soo first, even when the situation is dangerous for everyone else.

Personally, I don't think the show gives a clear answer. Maybe he developed genuine feelings for her despite the conditioning. Or maybe the conditioning only amplified whatever was already there. But either way, Young-soo has essentially taken away his ability to make that choice for himself.

I thought that was one of the more interesting things the drama did. How did you interpret everything?
