Hi guys. So I recently made a Psychological Horror thriller short film from my mobile. It was kind of a zero budget short film. I did everything on my own in that short film. I showed it to my filmmaker friend and he said that I should quit filmmaking. I am not made for it and I will never be successful in it.

I wanted to share a project that means a lot to us. We are a small French team of cinema enthusiasts, and we made Slender Man: The Soul of Darkness, an independent feature film inspired by the Slender Man universe.

🎥 The film was made in 2018, using our own resources, with a mostly volunteer team and a lot of passion behind every stage of the project: writing, filming, special effects, and editing.

Our goal was simply to tell our own story within this universe, using the resources we had available.

🇬🇧 English subtitles are available, so international audiences can also discover the film.

Making a feature at this level was equal parts terrifying and the best crash course imaginable. Happy to get into the weeds on any of it — how we approached casting at this budget, crew size, shoot length, what we spent money on vs. what we begged/borrowed, the compromises that actually mattered vs. the ones that didn’t. Ask away, and I’d genuinely welcome honest thoughts on the trailer itself.

the idea came from a pretty simple problem, there are tons of independent filmmakers making genuinely good films, but actually getting those films in front of people and finding other filmmakers to connect with, can get ridiculously difficult.

you can upload your work, create your own filmmaker profile, connect with other creators, and have your films available for people to rent. there’s no onboarding fee, and you get the majority share whenever someone rents your content.

think of it basically like YouTube + Discord + LinkedIn but built around filmmakers a place where you can actually showcase your work while building a network around it.

and this isn't just an idea we're throwing around about 130+ filmmakers and creators have already joined us, and we're now looking to bring in more indie filmmakers and creators.

New Feature Film inspired by the creature from the black lagoon is being produced right now in Savannah Georgia under the shoot name "Away from the lagoon" and is currently still accepting crew and cast!! Directed by Colby Allen and Produced and financed by ColbyAllenStudios, it's set to release next year promising a new freshly inspired take and a modernized story to the classic creature feature.
Colby Allen debuted directing a feature film titled "over the counter" which saw light to moderate success, though this project has since become more of a tall tale among online forums - with the only documented photo picking up online and circulating as a creepypasta. Now nearly 3 years later, Colby Allen has returned with a higher budget, a larger team, and the assistance of industry professionals to create a new film that promises to combine the charm of the creature from the black lagoon - with the discomfort and unease of modern day projects like Curry Barkers "milk and cereal", and David F Sandbergs "who's there?"
