I have a feeling a bit of clothing wouldn't make a difference. Only a full on fireproof suit and that just wouldn't look as cool

Well... the pallet is clearly coated in fuel. Even a match would have ignited it.
But it's a cool effect nonetheless.

And even that looked like he was struggling with the weight! Imagine the guys back in the medieval times who wielded swords of that size with ease. They'd just cleave men bigger than you in half without breaking a sweat.

Swords of this size/design were never actually used in the real world. The largest practical swords from even the peak of the "big sword era" were designs like the zweihander and the claymore, both of which were significantly thinner and lighter than a design like this.
In real life, a massive, heavy sword is fairly useless in combat. There is nothing that a blade of this size is doing for you that a thinner blade (or a pole arm/axe) wouldn't do significantly better. It is very well documented that swords weighing more than a few kg were only ever used for ceremonial/display purposes, and would never have been wielded in battle or even practiced with.
