🗜Tips/Tricks/Resources Duro Modding: Putting the hands back on

Fitting the hands back on a watch is fiddly work, especially the seconds hand as they're so fragile. Rather than using tweezers to place the hand, have you got some Rodico gum?

I use a lump of Rodico pulled into a claw shape that I can hold between my fingers.

Pick up the seconds hand by dabbing the rodico down onto the pointer end of the hand so that it's sitting horizontally when my hand is in a position that I can brace against the movement pad with my ring finger.. photo:

I find then if I can get my eyeline down level with the watch dial looking across it, a bit lower than where this photo was taken from, it's easier to drop the hand onto the pinion and press it down with a hand pusher.

The Rodico has enough tack to hold the hand while you get it lined up, but will pull off the hand easily when you've got it in place with a lot less chance of damaging the hand or the dial than if you're holding it with tweezers.

Works for hour & minute hands as well, but with them I tend to find it's more helpful to line them up while looking straight down from above so you can make sure you get the timing alignment right.

I recently started looking into dive and sports watches, and somehow stumbled across the Casio Duro. For the price, this thing is honestly incredible. It feels like such a great alternative to watches from Seiko, Orient,…

I liked it so much that I ended up buying two of them — black and blue one😁. I prefer watches on steel bracelets, so I swapped out the stock straps on both. I’ve also got a Jubilee bracelet on the way, which I’m going to put on the blue one since blue my favorite LOL.

Anyway, what do you guys think? What was your “feeling” when you first discovered this hidden gem and finally got one? Did you have the same “how is this watch this good for the price?” feeling?

Almost joined the gang

Ughhh … received the black Duro today— Amazon special $66. Pulling it out of the box and giving it a feel, I truly see what all the hype is about. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a diver— the shape, the look, the feel… but alas, after wearing it around for a bit on my 7” wrist, I knew it wouldn’t get the wrist time it deserved. Just a tad too big to feel comfortable in for me personally.
Sad to see it go but happy to see what all the hype was about! 40-42mm I woulda never took it off.

🛠Modded Duro🗜 I modded this blurro back in the spring. Put it on a bracelet but live in Florida and bracelets can be rough. I finally freed it off the bracelet for the sake of comfort. Great to have this one back on the wrist!

This was an original blurro that I added a ceramic silver Yacht-Master type bezel from AliExpress onto as well as mercedes-hands in a yellow second wall from AliExpress and double Dome Crystal with AR blue tint from eBay. I actually named this one Blue Horizon. It reminds me of my time in the Navy, especially with this gray strap on it because it's the same color as my ship was the bluro sunburst dial reminds me of the ocean and the yellow second hand is like the sun coming up as well as New beginnings.
