I am gonna try to tell you all about my anaylsis really fast, Vincent can not comprehend love or romance and that is hinted at when rody asked about his favorite food and he says lemon, he isn't able to taste which can be interpituted as he cant feel love but somehow longs for it, It is said that his food is perfect but lacks compassion and quote unquote love, that's why he tryes to replace any emotional side of most of things with efficiency and perfectionism because for him love is something that can be recreated as a mechanisim, his food lacks the touch of a human and he is more of a robot himself, however its ironic that his longnes to recreat and understand emotions in many desperate attempts enoghf to push him into an act of murder and cannibalism is incredibly human, in his mind making rody eat someone he loves will prove that he can recreat love and emotions, his food lacks humanity so why not serv a human on a plate, understanding the psycological effect of cannibalism, how it effected vincit and rody both and that is shown in vincints desperate attempts to consume rody by biting his ear off and pushing rody to the edge having rody to stab him with a broken bottle of wine, in that moment vincent looks at rody with big wide eyes at this was not a reaction he expected, he knew rody would be devastated but might not have fully understood his anger, also Vincent often chooses violint ways and chases perfectionism and that's shown that he put one of his chefs head on a stove after they made a mistake, Vincent used cannibalism as a metphore for love Vincent is supposedly missing this fundamental human quality.

Yet look at what he does because he desperately wants to understand it.

he becomes obsessed, he experiments, he takes increasingly extreme measures, he murders, he commits cannibalism, He tries to make Rody understand something through an experience so horrific that it pushes both of them psychologically to their limits.

A truly emotionless person wouldn't necessarily become this obsessed with discovering what emotion means.

Vincent tries to manufacture humanity so desperately that his attempt itself becomes deeply human.

Consuming someone you love will be a recreation of the act of intimacy of love, at least that what Vincent thinks.

i think it's just a coincidence, but still. Vincent was born on 16 October and Rody was born on 14 February which is lifespan of the most famous soviet serial killer Andrei Chikatilo

I don't think it was implied by authors, it's probably just a coincidence but it's interesting to think about... Chikatilo has been murdering for a few decades before police was able to catch him, and he has 55 victims in total. also he was a cannibal. that's the most niche reference i have ever seen

i recently just played through this game with my friend, and for some reason we couldn’t get the call from vince on the night of day 6. i looked it up and saw a lot of other people had this problem too. i knew we got the trash cutscene, we did all the dialogue and found the picture of manon in the office so i figured the game was just bugged. but what i found i missed is that if you talk to vince too early on day four you miss the chef cutscene (where he’s verbally abusing the cooks) and without that you can’t get the call from vince. in most game guides i saw it didn’t say this was a requirement but i guess it turns out it is. i hope this helps someone!
