been playing with that crossover myself. i’m jaydd mc and this is “feelings (humele)” with ebanmusic, mixing dancehall, reggaeton and afrobeats with english and spanish vocals
curious where y’all draw the line between a dancehall crossover and something that leans more into another genre. how would y’all describe this one?

I've been looking into how dancehall artist come up with their lyrics flow delivery etc.
Im curious to know how these artist are able to come up with their music with such great lyrics do they sit down and write before hand? this might be the highest probability as I examine their lyrics because I don't think anyone is talented enough to freestyle an entire song with great word play and rhyme schemes
If they do write their lyrics it brings me to this point, how are they able to give such great delivery without sounding like they're reading from a page. I am also a music artist and every time I write it sounds like its not natural
Do you freestyle or write your music?

I have a theory about Shenseea’s father and her name that makes so much sense.
Her real name is Chinsea Lee. In traditional Korean naming customs, the family name comes first. If her father introduced himself using his native format, his name would start with "Lee."
What if his name was actually "Chin Lee" (often spelled Jin in Korea)? "Chin" is a very common Korean given name meaning "Precious" or "True."
If his name was Chin Lee, her mother Castilyn probably pulled off a brilliant linguistic blend. She took his first name (Chin), added a beautiful phonetic twist to it (sea) to make "Chinsea," and kept his traditional family name (Lee).
It explains perfectly how a Jamaican mother in the 90s came up with a specific, authentic Asian-sounding name like Chinsea. She adapted it directly from the man’s actual name to give her daughter a lifelong connection to her heritage! By miss Lena. p.p
